摘要： A system and method for communicating content to a user device includes a head end that communicates a plurality of upcoming content metadata that includes a content title to the user device. The user device displays the upcoming content metadata and selects at least one upcoming content metadata from the plurality of upcoming content metadata to form selected data. The user device communicates the selected data to the head end. The head end adjusts head end communication parameters for the content associated with the selected data based on the selected data and communicates the content to a user device based on the head end communication parameters.

The recording module is configured to record, during a time and using a camera integrated with the compute device, a video such in accordance with the list of characteristics. The application module is configured to associate the video with a relationship indicator indicative of the relationship between the video and the video request. The application module is configured to send, to a server device from the compute device, a copy of the video including the relationship indicator such that the server (1) stores a copy of the video and (2) associates, based on the relationship indicator, the video with other videos that each have a relationship with the video request.

摘要： A method for re-transmitting missing packets in an improved manner in association with transmitting an MPEG transport stream between a client and a server of a communication network is provided. New type of customized control packets are introduced which are periodically embedded into the transport stream at the server from which the MPEG transport stream is distributed, wherein each of the embedded control packets is provided with package identification data. A client receiving the MPEG transport stream, including the embedded customized control packets, will, on the basis of the package identification data obtained from a customized control packet be able to identify each of n packets which were inserted by the server into the transport stream subsequent to the respective customized control packet.
