摘要： An image capture unit and computer readable medium used in combination therewith is disclosed. In a preferred embodiment, the image capture unit includes an image capturing sensor, a visual display, an instance of the computer readable medium, and circuitry for integrating functionalities thereof. The computer readable medium causes sensor data received from the image capturing sensor to be processed. The sensor data includes a plurality of image tiles and position indicating data defining a respective relative position of each one of each image tiles. Each one of each image tiles includes data representing a discrete portion of visual content. The computer readable medium causes a feedback image be displayed on the visual display. Displaying the feedback image includes correlate the relative position of each one of each image tiles with at least one other image tile that has been previously generated and displayed.

摘要： A handheld scanner system and method is disclosed. The depicted embodiment is a mouse scanner system operable to scan a document. In this embodiment, the mouse scanner system includes a scanner built into a computer mouse and a scanner software application operating on a computer. The scanner includes a positioning system operable to output position indicating data and an imaging system operable to output captured image data. The data is sent to the scanner software application where a feedback image is constructed and displayed on a display in real-time or near real-time to allow the user to view what areas have been scanned. The scanner software application also constructs an output image that can be printed, saved or communicated.

摘要： A system of mounting a raster output scanner relative to a photoreceptor such that deskewing, focusing, and pitch adjustment of the aerial image are possible. A spring isolated ROS assembly having at least two ROS arms attaches to a backer bar assembly that locates the position of the photoreceptor. The backer bar assembly and the ROS assembly connect at one end using a ball and socket and at the other end using a ball and fork such that the center line of the balls form a scan line plane. The ball and socket form a reference connection at one end. At the ball and socket end the photoreceptor backer bar has a mounting arm that is flexible in one plane but rigid in a perpendicular plane. A deskew mechanism, beneficially a motor driven cam, flexes the backer bar mounting arm as required to deskew the scan line.

摘要： This is a film image input system wherein an image of the developed still photo film is made to focus on an image sensing plane of a charge coupled device through a taking lens to be converted into electric signals and the electric signals are input in a video monitor. The film image input system comprises: a zoom driving part for changing the image magnification of the taking lens; a scan mechanism for moving an image taking positionon the film by the taking lens; and a control part for controlling the scan mechanism in such a manner that the moving speed of the scan mechanism is decreased with the increase in the image magnification of the taking lens and making the moving speed of a screen on the video monitor constant during scan. Furthermore, the control part can restrict the scan scope of the scan mechanism in accordance with the image magnification, satisfactorily display the scope being picked up at present on a display device, and return the scan position to the center of the film and return the image magnification to a predetermined standard magnification so that the film image in the whole frame can occupy the whole screen of the video monitor, upon receiving the standard reproduction command.

摘要： In an image input terminal for deriving an electronic representation of the image, including a platen for supporting a document to be scanned, a scanning system including an illumination source for illuminating a document supported on the platen, an array of photosensitive elements which produce an electrical response to sensed reflected light, an arrangement for directing light reflected from a document to the linear array, and an arrangement for providing relative motion in a slow scan direction between the linear array of photosensitive elements and the document, there is provided an arrangement for rotating the scanning system of photosensitive elements and an illumination source about a rotational axis, by an amount corresponding to detected skew of the image, so that, upon relative movement of the linear array of photosensitive elements and the document, the effects of skew in the slow scan direction are removed from the electronic representation of the image. The scanned image still contains a component of skew in the slow scan direction. Accordingly, each pixel is shifted in the fast scan direction by an amount corresponding to the position of the scan line with respect to a start of page signal.
