摘要： A new method of encoding multiple view image information into an image signal including adding to the image signal a first image of pixel values representing one or more objects captured by a first camera; adding to the image signal a map comprising for respective sets of pixels of the first image respective values, representing a three-dimensional position in space of a region of the one or more objects represented by the respective set of pixels, and adding to the image signal a partial representation of a second image of pixel values representing one or more objects captured by a second camera, the partial representation including at least information of the majority of the pixels representing regions of the one or more objects not visible to the first camera.

摘要： A 3D imaging apparatus with enhanced depth of field to obtain electronic images of an object for use in generating a 3D digital model of the object. The apparatus includes a housing having mirrors positioned to receive an image from an object external to the housing and provide the image to an image sensor. The optical path between the object and the image sensor includes an aperture element having apertures for providing the image along multiple optical channels with a lens positioned within each of the optical channels. The depth of field of the apparatus includes the housing, allowing placement of the housing directly on the object when obtaining images of it.

A compatible encoder generates a compatible stream by encoding an image that is a compatible image. An image converting unit converts the resolution of images that are auxiliary images. An auxiliary encoder generates an encoded stream of the auxiliary image by encoding the auxiliary image of which the resolution is converted. A compatibility information generating unit generates, as compatibility information, information that designates the image as a compatible image. A multiplexing unit transmits the compatible stream, the encoded stream of the auxiliary image, and the compatibility information. The encoding device can encode a 3D image of the multi-viewpoint mode.

Here, a 3D service apparatus according to one example of the present invention comprises: a receiving unit which receives a broadcast signal including the 3D service; an SI processing unit which extracts SI information on the 3D service from the broadcast signal and decodes the extracted information; a first processing unit which decodes 3D view data and depth data; a second processing unit which uses, as an input, the decoded signal outputted from the first processing unit and generates a virtual view of a certain time point on the basis of the decoded SI information; and an output formatter which generates 3D service data on the basis of the virtual view of the certain time point generated by the second processing unit, and outputs the generated 3D service data.

The dimensions include the height, length and width of the item. The dimensions are used to reduce the universe of possible candidates that would identify the unknown item. The methods use multiple reference planes and projects elements of the item onto the one or more of the reference planes to determine the coordinates of the elements of the item. Once the coordinates are determined, the dimensions of the items are determined.

摘要： Techniques are described for encoding and decoding depth data for three-dimensional (3D) video data represented in a multiview plus depth format using depth coding modes that are different than high-efficiency video coding (HEVC) coding modes. Examples of additional depth intra coding modes available in a 3D-HEVC process include at least two of a Depth Modeling Mode (DMM), a Simplified Depth Coding (SDC) mode, and a Chain Coding Mode (CCM). In addition, an example of an additional depth inter coding mode includes an Inter SDC mode. In one example, the techniques include signaling depth intra coding modes used to code depth data for 3D video data in a depth modeling table that is separate from the HEVC syntax. In another example, the techniques of this disclosure include unifying signaling of residual information of depth data for 3D video data across two or more of the depth coding modes.

The displayed image includes the region/object(s) of interest clearly shown (e.g. in focus) and any objects in a background of the combined image shown having a limited depth of field (e.g. blurry/not in focus) and/or the background replaced with another image and/or fill.
