摘要： There is provided a method of manufacturing a variable wall thickness steel pipe with a hollow tubular raw pipe. The method of manufacturing a variable wall thickness steel pipe includes locking the raw pipe in a die by thrusting a plug into the raw pipe from an one end side, so as to expand an outer shape on the one end side in a state, where the raw pipe is disposed inside the die and movement of the raw pipe in a longitudinal direction is restricted; and performing ironing in which an inner shape of the raw pipe is expanded while the outer shape is maintained so that a thin portion is formed by further thrusting the plug toward the other end side of the raw pipe while the locked state of the raw pipe is maintained, whereas the restriction on the raw pipe is relaxed.

摘要： A method and a former for necking and thickening a tube end. The former includes a hydraulic cylinder, a pusher, a concave die, a filler block, a plurality of heating rods and a heating device. The hydraulic cylinder is connected to a disc provided with a guide sleeve. The pusher is provided on the hydraulic cylinder and passes through the guide sleeve. The concave die is provided at a side of the pusher and includes a mold cavity and a plurality of heating holes. The filler block is provided in the mold cavity. The heating rods are provided in the heating holes connected to the heating device. The filler block includes a tapered portion provided at one end of the filler block and a diameter-reduced portion. The tapered portion is threadedly connected to the diameter-reduced portion. An ejector pin is provided at one end of the diameter-reduced portion.

摘要： A clutch housing assembly for use in vehicle drivelines includes at least one strengthening member at an open end of the housing. The strengthening member preferably is formed by cutting away portions of the housing near the open end and then deforming the remaining portions. The deformed portions preferably are folded over and against a surface of the housing near the open end. The strengthening members provide additional strength to the housing at the open end to resist deformations that may otherwise occur because of forces incident on the assembly during operation of the vehicle driveline.

摘要： A cold forging process and apparatus for reinforcing an end of a rectangular tube, including a close fitting, rectangular upper mandrel that inserts into the tubing. The upper mandrel has flared corners at the end attached to the upper die. As the upper die is moved under pressure towards the lower die, the flared corners of the mandrel makes contact with the inner surface of the tube. This ensures that the tube begins to deform outward before the rest of the upper die contacts it. As the upper die is pressed towards contact with the lower die, the end of the tube is cold formed into a collar. The dies are then moved apart and the cold-formed tube removed. A lower mandrel positions and retains the tube during forming. After forming the lower mandrel is used to eject the formed part, which may for instance be a trailer hitch housing.
