摘要： A machine tool includes: a movable body that supports a tool; a feed drive unit that feed-drives the movable body; a numerical control unit that controls the feed drive by the feed drive unit to perform cutting by the tool; an acceleration sensor that is provided on the movable body and detects acceleration of the movable body; and a command unit that outputs a stop command to stop driving of the feed drive unit to the numerical control unit when the acceleration of the movable body exceeds a threshold value set in advance on the basis of an output of the acceleration sensor. The command unit sets the threshold value to a first threshold value in a cutting control state, and sets the threshold value to a second threshold value lower than the first threshold value in a feed control in a non-cutting control state.

A rotary movement of a handle about the working axis is sensed by a motion sensor. A second angle of rotation of the handle is estimated by a second motion estimator, wherein rotary movements beneath the limit value are taken into account. A measure for reducing the torque output of the rotary drive is activated when the first angle of rotation exceeds a first triggering threshold (A1), and when the second angle of rotation exceeds a second triggering threshold (A2) and at the same time a power output of the rotary drive exceeds a power threshold (L).

A shaft may be positioned along the air path and movable relative to the air path between a first position and a second position. First and second pistons may be spaced axially apart along the shaft and each may extend radially outward beyond the shaft. In the first position, the first piston may extend across the air path to block the air path. In the second position, the second piston may be positioned to be acted on by air from a secondary inlet to apply a force to the second piston that overcomes a biasing force and positions the first piston to allow air to flow along the air path.
