    • This method is for managing a railway electrical circuit (3A, 3B) adapted to detect presence of a rolling stock (T) on a railway track (1), the railway track (1) being subdivided in successive track sections (1A, 1B) forming successive electrical circuits (3A, 3B) independently fed with electrical current for monitoring the presence of a rolling stock (T) on one of the track sections (1A, 1B), each electrical circuit (3A, 3B) comprising a transmission device (9A, 9B) for feeding the electrical circuit (3A, 3B) with electrical current, located at one end of the track section, and a reception device (11A, 11B) for detecting the electrical current circulating in the electrical circuit (3A, 3B), located at an opposed end of the track section. This method comprises steps consisting in a) continuously feeding the electrical circuit (3A, 3B) with electrical current with the transmission device (9A, 9B) and monitoring the presence of a rolling stock (T) on the corresponding track section (1A, 1B) by measuring, using the reception device (11A, 11B), the current circulating in the electrical circuit (3A, 3B); b) if the reception device (11A, 11B) detects that a rolling stock (T) is present on the track section (1A, 1B), applying to the electrical circuit (3A, 3B) a nominal electrical power (PN) at least until the rolling stock (T) exits the section (1A, 1B); c) if the reception device (11A, 11B) detects that no rolling stock (T) is present on the track section (1A, 1B), applying to the electrical circuit (3A, 3B) a power-saving power value (P0) which is inferior to the nominal power (PN). At step b), the electrical power (POT) consumed by the electrical circuit (3A, 3B) is kept under a limited value (P2). A system for detecting presence of a rolling stock (T) on a railway track (1) is also provided.

    • A load alternation counting device for an actuation device that is periodically hydraulically loaded has a cylinder and a piston sealingly positioned within the cylinder and axially displaceable therein. A pressure connector is provided for connecting the cylinder to a hydraulic loading device of the actuation device such that the piston is axially loaded when hydraulic loading of the actuation device occurs. A counter is switchable by an axial displacement of the piston within the cylinder. A spring for biasing the piston in a direction away from the counter is provided. The spring has a spring force such that switching of the counter by the axial displacement of the piston occurs only when a preset hydraulic pressure is surpassed.

    • A vital wheel detector for railways injects an oscillating electrical current into a short rail segment and produces a monitor signal in response the magnetic field around the rail. A high Q pickup coil is employed which, when a car wheel is present on the rail segment, sharply decreases in Q and significantly reduces the level of the monitor signal. Any failure of the detector apparatus is in a safe mode, as a loss of rail current results in a loss of the monitor signal whether through an electrical or a mechanical failure. Also, internal mechanical or electrical failures either interrupt the current to the rail or interrupt transmission of the monitor signal to the processing logic.

    • A paper sheet counting machine is disclosed, wherein sheet catching rollers are rotated to feed out paper sheets one after another by means of a friction. A sheet separating roller and a sheet separating plate cooperate to transport the fed out paper sheets, the former having a friction coefficient in connection with the paper sheets which is larger than a friction coefficient existing between the paper sheets themselves and the latter having a same nature of friction coefficient with the sheet separating roller so that the roller is rotated to transmit a transportation power to each of the paper sheets while the plate gives a braking power to each of the paper sheets thereby to prevent more than two paper sheets are transported in an overlapped condition. A counter is operated to count the paper sheets as these are transported past the counter while an angle sensor is operated to detect the rotation angles of the roller to check the width of the paper sheets thereby to discriminate if more than two paper sheets are transported in an overlapped condition, and if so, a warning signal is produced.
