摘要： Methodologies and equipment for using a hypochlorite solution to remove menstrual fluid, underarm perspiration or other hard-to-remove stains from soft fabric articles with reduced damage to the fabric articles when compared with popular chlorine bleaches. The soft fabric articles preferably are in white, although the present invention can also be applied to articles in other colors. In one embodiment, the weight concentration ratio of the alkali metal hydroxide over the hypchlorite salt in the hypochlorite solution is no less than 1:12.5. The hypochlorite solution may contain at least 0.2% by weight of sodium hydroxide and/or have a pH of at least 11.8.

摘要： A thickened liquid bleach composition and methods of use and manufacture are disclosed wherein the hypochlorite bleach composition includes about 0.1-10% by weight hypochlorite and is thickened by a thickening component including a cross-linked polyacrylate polymer in an amount effective for thickening the composition, effectively reducing bleach odor when the composition is dispensed onto a surface to be cleaned and also maintaining stability of the composition, the cross-linked polyacrylate polymer preferably forming about 0.2-2.0% by weight and more preferably about 0.4-0.8% by weight of the composition, the composition also including a stabilizer for the cross-linked polyacrylate polymer. The composition is adapted for being directed onto hard surfaces to be cleaned. The composition preferably exhibits shear sensitivity or plasticity facilitating its use in the spray-type dispenser.

摘要： The adverse effects of dissolved organic material in the aqueous phase of pulp suspensions during bleaching using mixtures of chlorine dioxide and chlorine are overcome by applying the chlorine dioxide and chlorine serially to the pulp in two steps without an intermediate wash. An aqueous solution of chlorine dioxide and chlorine in which the chlorine constitutes from about 6 to about 10% of the total available chlorine of the solution is used in the first step and chlorine is used in the second step. The aqueous solutions are formed by dissolving in water chlorine dioxide and chlorine formed in a chlorine dioxide generator.

Furthermore, the present invention describes a process for making this composition, which is an improvement in the known process for the manufacture of a solid calcium hypochlorite composition wherein an aqueous slurry comprising a hydrated lime, a mixture of hydrated lime and at least one alkali metal hydroxide, or a mixture of hydrated lime and at least one alkali metal hypochlorite, is chlorinated to form an aqueous chlorinated slurry containing calcium hypochlorite and further processing said chlorinated slurry to recover a solid calcium hypochlorite composition.
