摘要： The invention provides a novel composition for bleaching cellulose based materials, such as wood pulp and paper comprising: (a) an oxidatively stable bleach activator having the structure ##STR1## wherein Y.sub.1, Y.sub.3 and Y.sub.4 each represents a bridging group, i.e., zero, one, two or three carbon containing nodes for substitution, while Y.sub.2 is a bridging group of at least one carbon containing node for substitution, each said node containing a C(R), C(R.sub.1) (R.sub.2), or a C(R).sub.2 unit and each R substituent is the same or different from the remaining R substituents and is selected from the group consisting of H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkenyl, alkenyl, aryl, alkynyl, alkylaryl, halogen, alkoxy, phenoxy, CH.sub.2 CF.sub.3, CF.sub.3 and combinations thereof, or form a substituted or unsubstituted benzene ring of which two carbon atoms in the ring form notes in the Y unit, or together with a paired R substituent bound to the same carbon atom form a cycloalkyl or cycloalkenyl ring, which may include an atom other than carbon, e.g., cyclopentyl or cyclohexyl; M is a transition metal with oxidation states of I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII or VIII or selected from Groups 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 of the Periodic Table; Q is any counterion which would balance the charge of the compound on a stoichiometric basis; L is any labile ligand; and (b) an effective amount of a source of an oxidant.

摘要： Polyglycolate compounds are provided having the general structure: ##STR1## wherein n is an integer from 2 to about 10; R is C.sub.1-20 linear or branched alkyl, alkoxylated alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, alkylaryl, substituted aryl; R' and R" are independently H, C.sub.1-20 alkyl, aryl, C.sub.1-20 alkylaryl, substituted aryl, and NR.sub.3.sup..alpha.+, wherein R.sup..alpha. is C.sub.1-30 alkyl; and L is a leaving group displaceable in a peroxygen bleaching solution by perhydroxide anion. When this compound is combined with a source of peroxygen in aqueous solution, then a plurality of stain removing peracids are formed. Such peracids are formed substantially sequentially beginning with the carbonyl adjacent to the leaving group L. Thus, a first stain removing peracid having the structure ##STR2## will be formed in amounts approaching quantitative yield.

摘要： A method for the pretreatment of a long cloth continuously in which a cloth to be subjected to desizing, scouring and bleaching for the pretreatment thereof is preliminarily subjected to souring treatment in the sodium chlorite solution prepared by absorbing the chlorine dioxide gas, which is exhausted from the subsequent bleaching process with the use of chlorite, in a solution of H.sub.2 O.sub.2 and NaOH, and accordingly it is possible to transport the long cloth continuously in the pretreating process speedily with no need of staying the cloth in folded state for increasing the productivity and improving the quality of the product, and further to render the pretreating apparatus compact so as suitable for the production of small lot products.
