摘要： An improvement for inboard motor boats has a rigid exhaust conduit, a miniature rudder, and a rudder control system. The rigid conduit is provided for conduction of combustion gases exhaust outside the hull and has an aft facing outlet. The miniature rudder is pivotably mounted on the rigid conduit relative the aft facing outlet whereby combustion gases exhaust past the rudder. The rudder control system has a user interface inside the boat and has a control mechanism pivoting the rudder in response to inputs to the user interface.

A method for generating turbulence on a liquid surface within a discharge system includes supplying a mixing vessel with feedstock fluid and solvent fluid to generate a liquid mixture and a gas pocket in the mixing vessel. The method includes supplying an impinging solvent fluid through a nozzle extending from a first end of the mixing vessel to generate a roiling surface at an interface between the gas pocket and the liquid mixture and permit uptake of gas from the gas pocket into the liquid mixture.

摘要： A method for controlling the saturation level of gas in a liquid discharge includes obtaining temperature and pressure measurements of a solvent in a mixing vessel and obtaining a pressure measurement of a source feedstock in a feedstock tank, correlating the temperature and pressure measurements of the solvent to baseline data to generate a theoretical uptake rate for the source feedstock into the solvent and a theoretical flow rate of the source feedstock into the mixing vessel, and determining a required opening setting for a feedstock valve in the feedstock input line in order to achieve a desired liquid displacement in the mixing vessel. The method includes determining an uptake duration and achieving an uptake displacement equivalent to the reverse of the desired liquid displacement. The method includes generating a valve operating control law for how the feedstock valve should function in a cycle.

摘要： An exhaust system for a marine propulsion device having an engine and a driveshaft housing. An exhaust manifold having a downstream end with an outer surface conveys exhaust gas from the engine. An exhaust conduit having an upstream end with an outer surface conveys the exhaust gas to the driveshaft housing. A flexible coupler couples the downstream end of the exhaust manifold and the upstream end of the exhaust conduit, retaining a gap between them. A metallic coil is aligned with the flexible coupler, which biases the metallic coil into contact with the outer surfaces of the exhaust manifold and the exhaust conduit to conduct heat between them. First and second clamps engage outer surfaces of the flexible coupler to cause inner surfaces of the flexible coupler to sealingly engage the outer surface of the exhaust manifold, and the outer surface of the exhaust conduit, respectively.

摘要： A water jacketed exhaust component includes an exhaust pipe having a radially inwardly tapered tail end, a water jacket disposed in surrounding relation with the exhaust pipe, and a generally V-shaped spray ring. The spray ring includes a first and second set of apertures that create diverging streams of cooling water. A first set of apertures creates an annularly disposed series of streams that are directed downstream and radially inward. These streams are generally directed toward the outer surface of the exhaust pipe structure which extends downstream of the spray ring. A second set of apertures creates an annularly disposed series of streams that are directed downstream and radially outward. These streams are generally directed toward the inner surface of the water jacket structure extending downstream of the spray ring. By providing a water jacketed exhaust component with a spray ring that creates diverging streams of cooling water, the present invention provides a water jacketed marine exhaust component that provides improved exhaust gas cooling over a wider range of engine operating conditions. An alternate embodiment includes a V-shaped spray ring configured to create converging streams of cooling water.
