摘要： Provided is a specimen collection tip having a novel structure, with which it is possible to collect a trace amount of a specimen with good quantitative precision. Also provided is a specimen preparation container having a novel structure, with which it is possible to dilute and prepare the specimen collected with the specimen collection tip with good quantitative precision. A specimen collection tip 10, wherein a specimen holding region 12 having a predetermined volume is provided inside the specimen collection tip 10, and in a distal end portion extending from a support part 15, there is formed a specimen collection hole 22 and an air vent hole 24 placing the specimen holding region 12 in communication with a surface 23. Also, a specimen preparation container 26 with a cap 30, wherein the specimen collection tip 10 is attached to the cap 30 at the support part 15.

摘要： An apparatus for analysis of metals is provided. The apparatus includes a molding cavity for receiving a sample of a molten metal, a gating system for allowing the molten metal to be poured, and a vent for allowing gases to escape from the apparatus when the molten metal is poured. The apparatus further includes at least one chill plate, adjacent to the molding cavity, for enabling faster cooling and solidification of the sample of the molten metal. The apparatus also includes a longitudinal slot, extending from the molding cavity, for allowing a sensor element to be introduced into the sample of the molten metal, the sensor element is a thermocouple wire that is used to monitor a cooling curve of the molten metal, while the molten metal solidifies.

摘要： Systems and methods for a color board for use in reagent strip testing are disclosed. One implementation may include a color board surface, a first colored reference element printed on the color board surface, and a second colored reference element printed on the color board surface. The color board may also include a test region on the color board surface configured to receive at least one reagent pad. The color board may also include a unique code, and the code may reflect specific chromatic properties associated with each of the first colored reference element and the second color reference element at a time of printing. The unique code may be machine readable to enable a machine to later normalize a comparison color, for determining chromatic properties of the at least one reagent pad.

In one embodiment, a system may include a processor configured to receive a first image of a plurality of adjacent wounds near a form of colorized surface having colored reference elements, determine colors of the plurality of wounds, correct for local illumination conditions, receive a second image of the plurality of wounds near the form of colorized surface, to determine second colors of the plurality of wounds in the second image, match each of the plurality of wounds in the second image to a wound of the plurality of wounds in the first image, and determine an indicator of the healing progress for each of the plurality of wounds based on changes between the first image and the second image.

摘要： The present invention relates to a sampler for taking samples from a molten metal bath, particularly a molten iron, the sampler comprising: a carrier tube having an immersion end; and a sample chamber assembly arranged on the immersion end of the carrier tube, the sample chamber assembly comprising a cover plate and a housing, wherein the housing comprises: an immersion end having a first opening for an inflow conduit and an opposing end having a second opening for a gas coupler, a first face extending between the immersion end and the opposing end, the first face having a first depression proximate the immersion end and a second depression, the first depression being an analysis zone and the second depression being a ventilation zone, a portion of the analysis zone overlying a distribution zone which is in direct flow communication with the first opening and configured to receive the molten steel from the inflow conduit, wherein the first depression having a cross sectional circle segment profile along a central longitudinal axis that is concavely or triangularly shaped, wherein the cover plate and the housing are configured to be assembled together to form a sample cavity including the distribution zone, the analysis zone and the ventilation zone, such that an analysis surface of a solidified steel sample formed within the sample cavity lies in a first plane, and wherein the first and second openings are spaced apart from the first plane. The invention also relates to a sampler for taking samples from a molten metal bath, particularly a molten iron.

摘要： A sample collector for extracting a particulate material specimen from a container includes a needle for puncturing the container and capturing an amount of specimen inside a chamber in mechanical communication with the needle. A spring-loaded continuously and progressively retractable and extendable sheath protects the tip of the needle from inadvertent contact with a human user and encloses the puncture site on the container during collection. A preliminary screening test for illicit substances can be conducted on part of the collected specimen to determine whether the container should be confiscated. Part of the collected specimen can be preserved for later confirmatory testing.
