    • A voltage detector for a battery assembly having unit cells, the voltage detector includes a low voltage system circuit and a high voltage system circuit. The low voltage system circuit includes an enable pulse output unit which outputs an enable pulse to command detection of a voltage across both terminals of the unit cell. The high voltage system circuit includes a voltage pulse output unit which output a voltage pulse showing a voltage across both terminals of the unit cell, a switch which is provided between each unit cell of the battery assembly and the voltage pulse output unit and a switch controller which conducts ON-OFF control of the switch so that the each unit cell is successively connected to the voltage pulse output unit according to the enable pulse inputted from the pulse output unit.

    • Disclosed herein is a digital read-out meter circuit including a digital read-out meter and a frequency multiplier arrangement for providing signal pulses coupled to the input of the digital meter counters, said signal pulses having a frequency so that the parameter value to be displayed can be counted and read out directly by the meter. A presetable up/down counter provides an output representative of the rate of change of the parameter value to be displayed, and a logic circuit arrangement is operable, subject to the up/down counter output, for allowing application of different frequency data update pulses to the data update strobe terminal of the meter so that the meter automatically switches from a slow to a fast data update rate when the rate of change in the parameter exceeds a predetermined limit. Also disclosed herein is a tachometer which can be used with different engines, the tachometer including a digital read-out meter circuit wherein the frequency multiplier arrangement includes selective switching means for multiplying "X" number of pulses per engine revolution by different numbers so that engine rpm of different engines can be counted and read out directly by the digital meter.

    • A device for measuring spatial displacement comprises two similar elementary capacitors of a differential capacitor and which share a common movable armature and the two capacitors are used to produce respective pulses whose lengths are compared to produce a third pulse whose length is proportional to the displacement of the armature. In a preferred embodiment, the capacitors are switched in alternation into an oscillating circuit and serve to determine the frequency of oscillation thereof and the time taken for a fixed number of oscillations to be produced with each capacitor switched in is measured to produce the first and second pulses. An adder/subtractor counter is provided which provides a fourth pulse whose length is equal to twice that of the first pulse and the fourth pulse is compared with a pulse whose length equals the sum of the first and second pulses to produce the third pulse.
