摘要： A smart current transformer for determining primary current or power consumption, by stepping down the primary current to a secondary current for subsequent measurement by a connected meter. The current transformer is provided with a connected non-volatile memory for storing calibration data (and optionally identification data) regarding that particular current transformer. The calibration data can include the gain error and/or phase delay for the current transformer, as determined from prior calibration testing of the current transformer. The calibration data may be communicated to or otherwise determined by the meter, and used to calibrate the measurement of the secondary current, in order to determine the primary current or power consumption. Also disclosed is a system and method utilizing such a smart current transformer.

A wide range capacitor standard box comprises a chassis, 36 physical capacitors, and 4 changeover switches. Output ports are on the front panel of the chassis. 4 dial-switches select the output capacitance in values of 1, 2, 5 times of single-unit capacitance. The changeover switch has input terminals that connect to two electrodes of the physical capacitors, and output terminals that connect to the output ports. Comparing to decade capacitor standard boxes, the present box realizes capacitance outputs from 1 pF˜500 mF in values of 1, 2, 5 times of single-unit capacitance. The present box significantly extends the measurement range of capacitance, and makes the capacitor standard box smaller and lighter. By introducing a compensation function for open and short circuits, it is convenient and suitable for precision measurement.

摘要： Disclosed are methods and systems for adjusting a High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) compensator output signal to an HVDC system to reduce control loop modulus due to excessive time delay of sensor measurements. Two different time windows, a Short-Time Variance Window (STVW) and an Extended-Time Variance Window (ETVW) may be examined for detection of increased energy. To detect increased energy the HVDC compensator output signal may be passed through a bandpass filter, then variances for the STVW and ETVW may be generated to produce corresponding test statistics. The STVW and ETVW test statistics may be compared to hypothesis test thresholds and have binary logic based on the hypothesis test comparisons used to generate a gain. The gain may then be multiplied times the original HVDC feedback compensator output such that the adjusted HVDC feedback compensator output reduces the control loop modulus when applied to the HVDC system.

摘要： A voltage pattern analysis system and method may automate aspects of the process of mapping or assigning utility meters to a specific transformer or other distribution node by identifying misassociated meters and correcting a system-wide transformer assignment or distribution node assignment. When a meter's voltage signal does not correlate well with other meters' voltage signals on the same transformer, the meter is likely misassociated to that transformer. A pairwise voltage signal correlation may be computed for all meters assigned to a transformer and a voltage signal correlation for every transformer in the system, or a subset thereof, may be imputed. Individual meter correlations may then be compared with the transformer correlation. For meters identified as misassociation candidates, transformers or other distribution nodes within a specified radius may be considered for reassignment of the meter.

A controller generates a switching signal and supplies the switching signal to a solid state switch in circuit with a test load of known magnitude, switching the solid state switch to place the test load in circuit with the transformer. A signal through or across the transformer is then measured. Methods and apparatus for testing a transformer comprise the controller and solid state switch placing a series of test loads of different known magnitudes in circuit with the transformer from the lowest magnitude to the highest, from the highest to the lowest, or both. Additionally, a test load array comprises a plurality of power resistors, a heat sink for accommodating the plurality of power resistors, and a material providing electrical insulation of the power resistors from the heat sink and thermal conductivity between the power resistors and the heat sink.
