摘要： A flexible printed wiring board with crimp terminal includes: a flexible printed wiring board having a base film, a circuit including a metal foil provided on a surface of the base film, and a cover film attached to the base film so as to sandwich the circuit; and a crimp terminal with a plurality of crimping pieces that penetrates the flexible printed wiring board by being crimped and is bent to bite into a part of the circuit. A part of the circuit is exposed without the cover film being provided in a partial region of the flexible printed wiring board, and at least some of the crimping pieces are arranged in the partial region, and thus bite into a part of the circuit without penetrating the cover film.

摘要： Provided are electrical harness assemblies and methods of forming such harness assemblies. A harness assembly comprises a conductor trace, comprising a conductor lead with a width-to-thickness ratio of at least 2. This ratio provides for a lower thickness profile and enhances heat transfer from the harness to the environment. In some examples, a conductor trace may be formed from a thin sheet of metal. The same sheet may be used to form other components of the harness. The conductor trace also comprises a connecting end, monolithic with the conductor lead. The width-to-thickness ratio of the connecting end may be less than that of the conductor trace, allowing for the connecting end to be directly mechanically and electrically connected to a connector of the harness assembly. The connecting end may be folded, shaped, slit-rearranged, and the like to reduce its width-to-thickness ratio, which may be close to 1.

摘要： It is aimed to avoid the abrasion of a contact portion of a terminal fitting. When a harness-side housing (4) is connected to a board-side housing (1), a contact portion (12) of a terminal fitting (3) resiliently contacts a circuit board (2), whereas a body portion (5) of the terminal fitting (3) is pressed against a ceiling wall (19) of a cavity (14). The body portion (5) is formed with a projecting edge (13). When there is a thermal expansion difference in an arrangement direction of the cavities (14) between the circuit board (2) and the harness-side housing (4), the terminal fitting (3) pivots with a resilient abutting part of the contact portion (12) and the circuit board (2) serving as a supporting point.

摘要： A portion of a conductor of a flat circuit body is exposed from an insulating layer covering at least one of surfaces of the conductor. A terminal includes a bottom plate on which the exposed portion of the conductor is provided, and crimp claws which are raised at two side edges of the bottom plate so that the exposed portion of the conductor is disposed therebetween. A protective plate is provided on the exposed portion of the conductor, and has a strength so as not to be penetrated by the crimp claws when the crimp claws are crimped onto the protective member. The crimp claws are crimped onto the protective plate so that the terminal is crimped to the conductor in a state where the exposed portion of the conductor is in surface contact with the bottom plate.

摘要： A simple and highly effective method and apparatus for field terminating flat power cable such as used in undercarpet wiring systems. Each conductor, with tightly bonded insulation, of a multi-conductor flat power cable is (at the point of installation in-situ) slotted or cut through with thin narrow slots which leave corresponding narrow rectangular openings through the insulation and conductor. Then a thin conductive device or terminal with corresponding ribs which easily though precisely fit into the slots, is placed in the slot openings, is secured in place on the cable by a suitable means, and the assembly then crimped or flattened together to give a pressure-tight high-conductivity, electrically stable termination only about twice as thick as the insulated conductor. The applicator tooling may be a simple punch and die, and a hammer or pliers. An insulating "bandage" is applied over the termination and bonded to the conductor insulation thereby giving a water-tight joint impervious to corrosion. The metal or steel top shield required by the National Electrical Code is similarly terminated in order to assure "ground" continuity.

The edge margins of the plates are strengthened by coining, which also diagonally projects the edge margins inwardly toward the passageways to provide wire gripping jaws. The disclosure relates also to a method for assembling the cable to the connector whereby the conductors are successfully aligned and relocated, if necessary, in proper registration with the electrical contacts prior to insertion of the conductors in the contacts.

摘要： A terminal to be connected to a front end part of a flexible board including an insulating base film and a conductive path is provided with a terminal body including a sandwiching portion for sandwiching the flexible board and a tubular shell to be disposed outside sandwiching portion. The sandwiching portion includes a conductive contact portion for contacting the conductive path of the flexible board. The shell includes a pressurizing portion for pressing the sandwiching portion toward the flexible board, the pressurizing portion projecting inwardly of the shell. The shell includes a wide portion not formed with the pressurizing portion and a narrow portion narrower inside than the wide portion by being formed with the pressurizing portion. The narrow portion is located outside the sandwiching portion, whereby the conductive contact portion of the sandwiching portion contacts the conductive path.
