摘要： Embodiments of a system and method for sorting and sequencing articles in a processing facility are disclosed. Delivery endpoints are divided and grouped into stop groups. A first sorter sorts items according to stop group and outputs the items to trays. The output trays from the first sorter are loaded to a second sorter in stop group order. 摘要： Sorting systems and methods for large quantities of items in industrial processes are described. The systems, devices and methods are for receiving, sorting and removing items dynamically. A first group of items, such as letters or other mail pieces, are injected by a belt into a pocket to a form a first stack, and a divider is extended near the first stack. The divider allows for a second group of items to either be injected to form a second stack behind the divider, or to be diverted and injected into another pocket. The first stack can be removed while the second group is being injected.

摘要： A sortation conveyor has an endless apron supported for longitudinal movement on an elongate frame. An induction conveyor deposits articles on an offset lateral portion of a top conveying run of the apron. A pin guide assembly is coupled between the elongate frames and is upwardly presented to selectively receive the pin of pushers that laterally move across the apron. An upstream pre-sort section thereof positions articles from the offset lateral portion to an opposite lateral portion of the top conveying run. A downstream divert section of the pin guide assembly selectively diverts the articles to a divert target on the corresponding lateral side to the selected one of offset lateral position and the opposite lateral position.

摘要： A mail sortation system that can process mail, either letter or flat, from random order to delivery point sequence (DPS) order, in a single sortation pass. The system has a first sortation assembly comprising a plurality of individual open-topped receptacles into which mail is received, each receptacle having a trap door for selectively dumping its contents. A second sortation assembly comprises a linearly-translating conveyor positioned beneath the first sortation assembly, and an open topped bin travels along the conveyor to gather mail from the first assembly in a DPS sequence. A third sortation assembly comprises a linearly-translating conveyor arranged parallel to and directly beneath the second sortation assembly, and a plurality of mail bins mounted atop for receiving DPS-sorted batches from the second assembly.
