    • In a circular saw, an end plate provided on an end of a rotor core has a cylindrical shaft insulator and a plate extending radially from the shaft insulator. The plate is disposed at a position separated from the end of the rotor core. The plate includes slot parts, and air holes that penetrate the plate in the axial direction of the rotor shaft at areas adjacent to the rotor shaft. Protruding parts are provided on the shaft insulator on both sides of each air hole, extending in the axial direction of the rotor shaft and protruding radially outward with respect to the rotor shaft. The shaft insulator has an outer diameter D1 that is smaller than a diameter D2 of the plate in the slot parts adjacent to the rotor shaft.

    • A DC motor phase estimation algorithm that estimates a speed-related harmonic frequency of a DC motor current under dynamic load conditions having known geometry parameters. The algorithm estimates the phase and magnitude of a complex coefficient in a complex single frequency adaptive filter that receives a primary signal from the motor current and estimates a reference signal using an incident frequency by adapting the complex coefficient to match the magnitude and phase of the speed-related harmonic component of the primary signal. The rate of change of the phase of the complex coefficient is determined by a phase-lock loop coupled to the adaptive filter to adapt a dynamic incident frequency corresponding to a single frequency component of interest in the primary signal. The incident frequency is extracted, and the motor speed is estimated using the extracted incident frequency and the known motor geometry parameters.

    • The invention relates to a current-controlled converter and a method for controlling a converter of this type (U) comprising three phase outputs (R, S, T). The method comprises the following steps: a) application of a test current signal (ip) to a first (R) and a second (S) phase output of the three phase outputs (R, S, T) and isolation of the third phase output (T), when the converter (U) is activated for operation; b) respective measuring of the test signal (ip) and generation of a measuring signal (imR, imS) that is proportional to the measured test signal (ip) for both the first (R) and the second (S) phase output; c) determination of a correction value (Δg1) that is dependent on said measuring signals (imR, imS); and d) control of the converter (U) in accordance with the determined correction value (Δg1). The inventive method is used in particular in a converter for controlling a three-phase motor (M).

    • A connector housing 45 is formed separately from a gear housing 20 and a closing and fixing member 21. The connector housing 45 includes a retainer 49, which supports an external connector 48 relative to the closing and fixing member 21, and an elastically deformable grommet 50. A retainer-side end of the grommet 50 is interposed between a flange portion of the retainer 49 and an outer surface of the closing and fixing member 21, and the connector housing 45 is secured to a connector installation opening 43. With this construction, it is possible to achieve a high degree of design freedom and to provide a motor having a drip-proof structure of a relatively simple configuration.
