The user's facial feature(s) and the reference feature may be detected in the captured image data. Image pixel data of the image may be processed to measure an aspect of the detected facial feature(s) based on the reference feature. A patient interface size may be detected from standard patient interface sizes based on a comparison between the measured aspect of the facial feature(s) and a data record relating sizing information of the standard patient interface sizes and the measured aspect of the facial feature(s).

摘要： Apparatus and associated methods relate to semi-custom facial breathing masks having selectively removable material which when removed alters one or more facial fitting dimensions to provide a more customized or personalized fit to a wearer's face. In an illustrative embodiment, the facial breathing mask may be customized based upon facial dimensions determined using image data corresponding to a wearer's face. In some embodiments, a mask customization module may modify the shape and/or size of the facial breathing mask. For example, a processor may select, from different mask blanks, an optimal mask blank corresponding to image data corresponding to the wearer's face. The processor may determine the customization operation to perform on the selected mask blank based upon the image data and the selected mask blank. Some embodiments may provide mask customization based upon personal preferences. The system may advantageously provide an optimally fitted mask and/or personally customized mask for the wearer.

The auto-adjusting headgear comprises one or more straps wherein the materials have elasticity characteristics such that the headgear self-adjusts. The headgear comprises two lateral strap sections, a rear strap section, and a top strap section. The strap sections are of varying materials and thicknesses to control the properties of the strap sections. In one embodiment, at least a portion of a strap includes a high friction material disposed so as to contact a portion of the user responsive to the headgear being donned by a user.

摘要： A breathing mask for use in administering inhalable medications to a patient in need of an inhaled drug is provided. The mask disclosed herein is particularly useful for use with very young children. The mask is made from a flexible molded plastic silicone or elastomeric material, and has an anthropometrically/anatomically/ergonomically contoured shape to provide a good seal, a comfortable fit, and minimal dead space within the mask. The airway is aligned with nose. There may be an orifice for use with a soother device to calm a child using the mask. Also provided is a visual flow indicator to provide an indication of the quality of the seal of the mask on the face.

摘要： A system for reducing airway obstructions of a patient may include a ventilator, a control unit, a gas delivery circuit with a proximal end in fluid communication with the ventilator and a distal end in fluid communication with a nasal interface, and a nasal interface. The nasal interface may include at least one jet nozzle, and at least one spontaneous respiration sensor in communication with the control unit for detecting a respiration effort pattern and a need for supporting airway patency. The system may be open to ambient. The control unit may determine more than one gas output velocities. The more than one gas output velocities may be synchronized with different parts of a spontaneous breath effort cycle, and a gas output velocity may be determined by a need for supporting airway patency.
