70 CLEARINGHOUSE FOR ELECTRONIC COUPONS PCT/US2013/049311 2013-07-03 WO2014008392A1 2014-01-09 BEGUM, Paul G.

A clearinghouse for electronic coupons is provided to enable retailers to submit electronic coupons for redemption. A clearinghouse for electronic coupons can provide an application programming interface that retailers can use to interface their computer systems, such as a point of sale system, with the clearinghouse. The application programming interface allows retailers to submit electronic coupons for redemption automatically from the retailers' own computer systems thereby minimizing the overhead of accepting and redeeming electronic coupons. The clearinghouse can provide immediate notifications of the validity of a coupon or of the manufacturer's agreement to reimburse the value of the coupon.

71 VIRTUAL POINTS CLEARINGHOUSE PCT/US2008/063269 2008-05-09 WO2008141199A1 2008-11-20 ZHANG, Junbo; YIP, Tony Ying-kin; WANG, Jacky Xugang; HONG, Jason Zhiqing; ZHANG, Shu

Systems and methods establish a virtual points clearinghouse. The clearinghouse redeems heterogeneous digital micro-payments-such as bonus points received from various points issuers-across diverse service providers. Points meant for exclusive redemption at one service provider may be directly redeemed for non-corresponding goods of a different service provider. In one implementation, the clearinghouse includes contracts between points issuers, service providers, and a clearinghouse, including intervening conversion rates. A user interface enables a user to manage multiple point balances from a computing device, cell phone, or other mobile device. The user interface enables the user to find diverse goods and to directly obtain the goods by redeeming diverse heterogeneous points. The clearinghouse includes an invoicing engine to enable money flow between users, points issuers, service providers, and the clearinghouse.

A clearinghouse system for use is transferring a value of a first voucher ticket issued by and associated with a first gaming facility to a second voucher ticket associated with a second gaming facility. The voucher ticket can be provided on paper or in electronic or digital format. The clearing house can deduct a fee for the conversion. The voucher ticket can include a coded machine readable image representing either a serial number or a financial value. The coded machine readable image can be encoded using an encoding scheme that is proprietary to the voucher ticket issuing party. The clearinghouse is in communication with each ticket voucher database of each respective gaming facility to appropriately revise the database with any impact from the transaction transferring the value from one voucher ticket to a second voucher ticket.
