In more specific implementations, the converting of the first transmission into the multicast transmission occurs at a first-hop router in relation to a PMU source that sent the first transmission. In some cases, the first transmission is a unicast transmission sent from a network element, which includes a PMU sensor.

摘要： A smart grid for improving the management of a power utility grid is provided. The smart grid as presently disclosed includes using sensors in various portions of the power utility grid, using communications and computing technology to upgrade an electric power grid so that it can operate more efficiently and reliably and support additional services to consumers. The smart grid may include distributed intelligence in the power utility grid (separate from the control center intelligence) including devices that generate data in different sections of the grid, analyze the generated data, and automatically modify the operation of a section of the power grid. Further, the intelligent devices in the power utility grid may cooperate together to analyze and/or control the state of the power grid. Finally, the distributed intelligence may further include distributed storage.

摘要： An image processing system uses the digital expression of the video image of a light stripe derived optically from a seam to create a 1-D signal representative of a one-pixel wide line. The target coordinates for the tool operating on the seam is converted directly into 3-D tool position and orientation from the 1-D signal. Matching with models is effected in real time by comparing symbolic attributes of the graphs built up with the 1-D signal and with standard seams. From such matching is selected the operative corner, or target for the tool.

摘要： A look-ahead sensor attached to the its effector end deviates upon each control action upon the robot toward a new position along the seam path. The chord across the seam path from the present effector end to the contemporaneously sensed seam path location is determined and used with the present orientation of the effector end to determine an additional yaw angle compensating for the deviation. As a result, the look-ahead sensor is constantly brought back on track.

摘要： A compact optical apparatus for tracking a path of movement of a tool along a line of travel on a workpiece, includes a light source for providing a collimated light beam, wherein the light source is mounted on the tool adjacent the rear of the tool. A cylindrical reflector is mounted adjacent one side of the tool and is positioned in the path of the collimated light beam to reflect at least a portion of the collimated light beam to project a light stripe on the workpiece in front of the tool. The cylindrical reflector is positioned with respect to the collimated light beam and the line of travel of the tool so that the projected light stripe is substantially bisected by the line of travel. A camera is oriented to face away from the workpiece and is used to generate an image of the light stripe projected on the workpiece. An autocorrelation filter is connected to the camera in situations where the tool causes transient images to be produced on the image, for example, when the tool is a seam welder which produces sparks which travel across the field of view of the camera. The autocorrelation filter is employed to remove the spark trails from the image of the projected light stripe.

摘要： A vision sensor for tracking includes a light stripe vision sensor for use in harsh environments. This light stripe generator is light source independent and produces a light stripe without the use of lenses. Additionally, the enclosure in which the light stripe generating and detecting means are mounted includes an environmental control system which provides pressurized, conditioned air into the apparatus enclosure in order to control the affects of dust, humidity and temperature variations countered in many working environments. This vision system is particularly well suited for use in welding applications and can be easily used in combination with an industrial manipulator to provide automated vision sensor capabilities.
