      SOLUTION: A lower half side of an upper end part 11 formed on the front fork F penetrated to a mounting hole of a fork bracket B in a cylindrical shape is made to an inclination part 11a having an outer diameter gradually contracted as it upwardly advances, an upper half side of the upper end part 11 continued to the inclination part 11a is made to a straight part 11b having the same outer diameter. A lower half side of the mounting hole 4 in the fork bracket B is made to a cone-like hole 4a having an inner diameter gradually increased toward a lower side, and an upper half side of the mounting hole 4 in the fork bracket B is made to a straight hole 4b having an inner diameter not varied toward an upper side. By fastening of a cap member 2 thread-engaged with an inner periphery of the straight part 11b penetrated to the straight hole 4b, the inclination part 11a is pulled up by the cone-like hole 4a.

      SOLUTION: A seal is disposed between the outer periphery of the cylinder 1 and the inner periphery of a cylindrical body 3 in which a flow passage L made up of a bypass passage between the outer periphery of a cylinder 1 and itself is formed by being interposed on the outer periphery of a cylinder 1, which prevents hydraulic fluid from leaking to the outside from the passage L. By calking both ends 3a and 3b of the cylindrical body 3 under the arrangement condition of an engaging ring interposed on the outer periphery of the cylinder 1, the cylindrical body 3 is prevented from moving along the direction of the axial core line of the cylinder 1 on the outer periphery of the cylinder 1.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic shock absorber having an air chamber separated from an oil therein which can be maintained in the state that an operating part in a damping force adjusting valve can easily be operated at all times, when the hydraulic shock absorber is provided with the damping force adjusting valve for adjusting the intensity of the generated damping force. SOLUTION: A reservoir chamber R is demarcatedly formed between an outer cylinder 2 and a cylinder 4 arranged inside the outer cylinder 2. In addition, the reservoir chamber R is communicated with a piston side oil chamber R2 defined inside the cylinder 4 by a piston 8, via a base valve part 5 arranged inside the lower end of the cylinder 4. On the other hand, an annular oil chamber R3 is demarcatedly formed between an annular partition member (6) contained in the reservoir chamber R and a sealing member 10 for sealing the head ends of the outer cylinder 2 and the cylinder 4, and for making a piston rod 9 with the tip end thereof connected to the piston 8 penetrate through the central part. Further, the annular oil chamber R3 is communicated with the damping force adjusting valve arranged on the sealing member 10. The piston side oil chamber R2 is communicated with the annular oil chamber R3 via a bypass passage composed of a communicating hole 4b opened to the cylinder 4 and a flow passage 4c communicating with the communicating hole 4b.       SOLUTION: This front fork has a check valve 5 checking communication with a reservoir side oil chamber R3 of a pressure side oil chamber R2 when a lower-end piston 4 in a rod body 3 is discended in a wheel side tube 2, and has a damping part 4a parallel to this check valve 5 and allowing the communication with the reservoir side oil chamber R3 of the pressure side oil chamber R2, and has an extension side oil chamber R1 expanding in contraction operation when the lower-end piston 4 in the rod body 3 is discended in the wheel side tube 2 between the lower end side of a vehicle body side tube 1 and the upper end side of the wheel side tube 2. While the extension side oil chamber R1 allows the communication of the reserver side oil chamber R3 via a check valve 7 in its expansion, the extension side oil chamber R1 communicates with the inside of the wheel side tube 2 via an extension orifice 2b formed at the wheel side tube 2 in the extension operation.
