    • PURPOSE:To generate optimum stroke and axial force by fixing a non-circular gear to the movable part of one of the two mechanical actuators, a primary and a secondary, installing another non-circular gear meshing with the first named non-circular gear in a torque transmitting device which drives the actuators interlockedly, and by forming the two gears in spiral form. CONSTITUTION:A pair of non-circular gears 17, 19 are installed in a torque transmitting device 15 which moves interlockedly the movable parts 11b, 12b of a primary and a secondary mechanical actuator, and the rotation amount of each rotary part is corrected so that the axial moving amount of each movable sheave will match with the original motion amount specified by a belt 7. As these gears 17, 19 are in spiral form, meshing in a plurality of turns is made possible continuously by the axial motion associate with rotation of the movable part 12b, and this rotation in plural turns is transmitted to the movable parts of the two mechanical actuators, and on the basis thereof the mechanical actuators 11, 12 move the movable sheave in the axial direction at a certain lead. This constitution shortens the dimension in axial direction and allows securing a sufficient load capacity.

    • PURPOSE:To increase the durability and embody in a compacted construction by using a mechanical actuator which consists of ball screw devices of circulate type having a ball return path, and dimensioning either of its movable part and stationary part shorter than the other. CONSTITUTION:When ball screw devices 10, 11 are operated by a rotation driving means such as a motor, movable sheaves 5b, 6b move to change the effective belt dias. of pulleys 5, 6, and thus the transmission torque ratio is controlled steplessly. The ball screw devices 10, 11 are of circulate type having a return path 12, and its shorter members, for ex. movable parts 10b, 11b, move axially relative to longer members, for ex. stationary parts 10a, 11a, and thus balls 10c, 11c can be maintained in proper condition even though regular and reverse rotation take place in irregular reversals, though different load is applied in the elongation direction from in the contraction direction, and though the movable parts are rotated in a plurality of turns. This maintains the performance good and allows embodiment of the invention in a compacted construction.

    • PURPOSE:To increase a torque capacity without increasing the weight of a weight or the like, by increasing the force of friction acting on a friction shoe, by means of a self energizing operation. CONSTITUTION:A contact portion 7 contactable to the inner perimeter surface of a drum 3 is provided at a friction shoe 5, and a projection 10b is provided at its back in such a way as to be able to be moved integrally with the shoe 5, and also, a strut member 12 is supported at a predetermined start up angle thetaat a clutch disk 2, and also, the tip O of the strut member 12 is made to butt on the lower stream side of a drum rotation direction R at the projection 10b. When the contact portion 7 of the friction shoe 5 comes into contact with the inner perimeter surface of the drum 3 due to centrifugal force acting on a weight assembly 6 or the like, torque from the drum 3 acts on the shoe 5. And then, the shoe 5 moves in the drum rotation direction R relatively against a drum 2, and at the same time, the tip portion O of the strut member 12 moves in a perimeter direction integrally on account of the projection 10b, and the member 12 swings in a start up direction with its base end portion B as a center, and presses pushingly the shoe 5 in a radius direction in a wedge form.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent a pin from being detached when centrifugal force is exerted on a clip, by providing a retaining member formed of plate-shaped materials and adapted to retain both ends of the pin, and inserted in between blockunits being adjacent to each other. CONSTITUTION:A retainer 5 (a retaining member) retains both ends of a pin 4 for connecting the link lines of an endless belt 1 together, and has its base 51 inserted into a space defined by the respective projecting parts 22, 32 of block units Y disposed in adjacent relationship to each other. In the case of being mounted to a first block 10, the retainer 5 is unfailingly secured to the upper part of the block 10 by a pressing part 53 and insertion parts 54, 54 provided in the retainer 5, and the block 10 and the retainer 5 are constantly held in closed relationship to each other, while the retainer 5 has its bended portions 56, 56 on both sides thereof engaged with protrusively curved portions 24, 24 formed on the arm portions 17b, 17b on both sides of the upper part 17 of the block 10; thus sideward idling movement of the retainer 5 is controlled for unfailingly positioning the pin 4 thus retained.
