摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor that suppresses occurrence of an afterimage phenomenon (ghost) caused by a remaining history of a previous image, and a variation in electrical characteristics (cycle characteristics) after repeated use.SOLUTION: An electrophotographic photoreceptor comprises a support 1, an undercoat layer 2 provided on the support 1, and a photosensitive layer 3 provided on the undercoat layer 2. The undercoat layer 2 contains at least a binder resin, metal oxide particles, and an electron-accepting compound having an anthraquinone structure. The electron-accepting compound is contained in the amount of 0.5 parts by weight or more and 1.5 parts by weight or less relative to the metal oxide particles; and a contact angle of the metal oxide particles to water is 7° or more and 12° or less.

The electrophotographic photoreceptor applied has an outermost surface layer comprising a binder resin having a biphenyl structural unit and a charge transporting material having butadiene trimer structure in one molecule. The charging means applied has an outermost surface layer containing a porous filler and having a surface roughness Rz of 2 μm or more and 20 μm or less.
