摘要： An echo cancellation training method in a cable modern is provided, comprising receiving an echo cancellation service ID (EC SID) assigned for echo cancellation training, the cable modem receiving the EC SID from a cable head end in an information element (IE) in a map (MAP or P-MAP) defining a time and frequency of upstream transmission opportunities for the cable modem, the EC SID establishing when the cable modem may perform the echo cancellation training in a downstream channel allocated to the cable modem, transmitting an echo cancellation test signal upstream to the cable head end via an upstream channel allocated to the cable modem and in a time slot specified by the received EC SID in the map, and measuring noise in one or more downstream channels allocated to the cable modem, with the noise resulting from the transmission of the echo cancellation test signal on the upstream channel.

摘要： Control of a digital communication system having a plurality of communication lines on which signals are transmitted and received is implemented using a variety of methods and systems. According to one embodiment of the present invention, a method is implemented where the signals are affected by interference during transmission and each of the communication lines has at least one transmitter and at least one receiver. A model is created of the interference characteristics due to the signals carried on the communication lines. Interference characteristics for a line are determined based on the model and actual signals carried on other communication lines different from the line for which the characteristics are being determined. Actual interference is compensated for on the communication line using the determined interference characteristics.

摘要： A crosstalk processing method, an apparatus, and a system comprise a transceiver of a line that generates, respectively according to pilot sequences allocated by a vectoring control entity, pilot training signals that are within different spectral ranges and that satisfy a preset relationship with a pilot training signal of another line such that a receiver of the line can determine sample errors respectively according to the different pilot training signals. A vectoring control entity then determines crosstalk channel coefficients from the other line into an inband spectrum and an out-of-band spectrum of the line, and performs precoding processing on a to-be-sent data signal of the line to eliminate impact of crosstalk from the other line to the inband and out-of-band spectrums of the line.

Specifically, the methods and systems relate to isolation and compensation techniques for minimizing alien crosstalk between connectors for use with high-speed data cabling. A frame can be configured to receive a number of connectors. Shield structures may be positioned to isolate at least a subset of the connectors from one another. The connectors can be positioned to move at least a subset of the connectors away from alignment with a common plane. A signal compensator may be configured to adjust a data signal to compensate for alien crosstalk. The connectors are configured to efficiently and accurately propagate high-speed data signals by, among other functions, minimizing alien crosstalk.

摘要： A measurement instrument and associated method: receive at a measurement instrument at least one victim signal from a device under test (DUT), the victim signal including crosstalk interference from one or more aggressor signals which are not received by the measurement instrument; extract from the victim signal an ideal data pattern for the received victim signal, where the ideal data pattern does not include intersymbol interference (ISI), a noise component, or crosstalk interference to the victim signal; ascertain from the received victim signal and the ideal data pattern the ISI for the victim signal; produce a difference signal as a difference between: (1) the received victim signal; and (2) a sum of the ideal data pattern and the ISI; and ascertain from the difference signal a sum of the noise component and the crosstalk interference from one or more aggressor signals which are not received by the measurement instrument.
