摘要： Bioerodible poly(ortho esters) useful as orthopedic implants or vehicles for the sustained delivery of pharmaceutical, cosmetic and agricultural agents from dioxane-based di(ketene acetals). Block copolymers contain these bioerodible poly(ortho esters). These block copolymers have both hydrophilic and hydrophobic blocks. They form micelles in aqueous solution, making them suitable for encapsulation or solubilization of hydrophobic or water-insoluble materials; and they also form bioerodible matrices for the sustained release of active agents.

摘要： The objective of the present invention is to develop a sealing material for liquid crystals which hardly contaminates liquid crystals, shows excellent coating workability and bonding property when applied to a substrate, and has a long working time (pot life), a low-temperature curing property and an excellent adhesion strength. The sealing material for liquid crystals is characterized by comprising: (A) as a curing resin a mixture of (a) an epoxy group-containing curing resin and (b) a (meth)acryloyl group-containing curing resin, or (c) a curing resin containing an epoxy group and a (meth)acryloyl group; (B) a radical-forming photopolymerization initiator; (C) an isophthalic acid dihydrazide having an average particle diameter of 3 μm or smaller; and (D) a filler having an average particle diameter of 3 μm or smaller.

摘要： The present invention provides a curable composition selected from the group consisting of adhesives, sealants and coatings. The composition includes: (i) a curable component; (ii) a curing agent component for curing the curable component, the cure reaction being exothermic; and (iii) an inert heat absorbing component dispersed within the composition for absorbing heat generated by the exothermic reaction in an amount sufficient to achieve at least one of the conditions selected from the group of conditions consisting of: (a) decrease heat given out by the reaction by at least 10%, the amount of heat absorbing component being less than 20% by weight of the total composition and/or (b) the heat absorbing component having a melting point in the range of temperatures from the cure onset temperature to the end temperature of reaction; and/or (c) decrease the heat given out by the reaction by at least 10 joules per gram of the total composition, the amount of heat absorbing component being less than 20% by weight of the total composition. The compositions provided are low exothermic compositions having an exotherm less than or equal to 300 J/g.

摘要： The present invention discloses reworkable epoxy compositions suitable for encapsulation of and underfill for electronic components including (a) the epoxidized reaction product of a multifunctional 1-alkenyl ether or 1-cycloalkenyl ether and an alkenyl carboxylic acid, the epoxidized reaction product having two or more thermally labile alpha-alkoxy ester linkages; and (b) a curing agent for the epoxy component. The epoxy composition, when cured, provides a composition which is thermally reworkable, the weak α-alkoxy ester linkages providing for the reworkable aspect of the invention.
