摘要： The invention provides highly functional epoxy resins that may be used themselves in coating formulations and applications but which may be further functionalized via ring-opening reactions of the epoxy groups yielding derivative resins with other useful functionalities. The highly functional epoxy resins are synthesized from the epoxidation of vegetable or seed oil esters of polyols having 4 or more hydroxyl groups/molecule. In one embodiment, the polyol is sucrose and the vegetable or seed oil is selected from corn oil, castor oil, soybean oil, safflower oil, sunflower oil, linseed oil, tall oil fatty acid, tung oil, vernonia oil, and mixtures thereof. Methods of making of the epoxy resin and each of its derivative resins are disclosed as are coating compositions and coated objects using each of the resins.

摘要： A curable epoxy resin composition of an epoxy resin (a) and a combination (b) of an antioxidant (b1) and a UV absorber (b2). The UV absorber (b2) is a benzotriazole. The antioxidant (b1) is a compound of general formula I: wherein: R1=—H, —OH, —O—C1-18 alkyl, —C1-18 alkyl, —C5-12 cycloalkyl being unsubstituted or being substituted with C1-6 alkyl or C1-6 alkoxy, or —CH2—C5-12 cycloalkyl being unsubstituted or being substituted with C1-6 alkyl or C1-6 alkoxy; R2,3,4,5=independent from each other —C1-6 alkyl; and R6=a bivalent aliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic residue. The weight ratio of (a) to (b) is from 90.0:10.0 to 98.5:1.5, with the proviso that the weight portion of (b1) is at least 0.5. The cured product has very good weather resistance after curing by polyaddition with a polycarboxylic acid anhydride or by homopolymerization. The cured product is suitable as an electrical insulation material.

摘要： The present invention relates to a method for producing a flat article comprising a material that contains the products of several reactions. The method comprises the following steps: carrying out a pre-cross-linking of a mixture comprising an epoxydation product of a carboxylic acid ester using at least one cross-linking agent in order to form a mouldable material; moulding the mouldable material in the shape of a flat article; and curing the moulded material in order to produce a flat article, wherein the pre-cross-linking reaction is separate from the curing reaction. This invention also relates to a mouldable material that can be stored and to a flat article that can be obtained from the same.

The composition according to the present invention exhibits an increased curing rate, i.e. a shortened “incubation time”, compared to those compositions based on renewable raw materials currently available in the prior art. Furthermore, the composition according to the present invention can advantageously use particularly in casting and rotational casting processes, respectively.

摘要： The invention relates to polymers that can be obtained by: A) reacting an epoxidized ester, which is selected from one or more unsaturated fatty acids having 8 to 26 C atoms and a polyol having 2 to 6 OH groups, with a monoamine, diamine or polyamine; B) alkoxylating the polyamine obtained hereby with a C2 to C4 alkylene oxide in molar excess so that the average degree of alkoxylation per OH group ranges from 1 to 100. The polymers have a numerical average molecular weight ranging from 500 to 100,000 g/mol. The invention also relates to the use of these polymers in quantities ranging from 0.0001 to 5% by weight with regard to the oil as demulsifiers for oil-in-water emulsions.

摘要： The present invention discloses reworkable epoxy compositions suitable for encapsulation of and underfill for electronic components comprising (a) a curable epoxy component which is the reaction product of an epoxidized 1-alkenyl ether or 1-cycloalkenyl ether and a polycarboxylic acid, the reaction product being substantially free of unreacted acid or acid impurities; and (b) a curing agent for the epoxy component, wherein the reaction products of the epoxy composition are reworkable. The cured epoxy compositions of this invention contain thermally labile weak α-alkoxy ester linkages which provide for the reworkable aspect of the invention.
