With this structure, the identifying member identifies the states by changing its tactile impression, so that blind persons can understand the states wherein recording medium is loaded in or unloaded from the body proper.

摘要： An apparatus having a magnetic head assembly including a plurality of arms each arm having a magnetic head fixed to a nose portion thereof and a magnetic disk unit having a plurality of magnetic disks mounted on a rotating shaft. The spacing between adjacent magnetic disks being set at a value corresponding to the thicknesses of the magnetic heads fixed to two of the arms, plus the thickness of the two arms, plus a rotating gap of the magnetic heads, plus a space of 0.1 mm or less. Further included is a disk height measuring device and a head measuring device for measuring the heights of the disks and the magnetic heads. An expansion device expands the spacing between the adjacent arms. The spacing between the adjacent arms being expanded an appropriate amount to provide optimal operation of the magnetic disk apparatus.

The apparatus on the floppy disk has a receiving device, adapted to reside on the floppy disk, for receiving digital data representing information indicative of the data stored on the floppy disk, a logic/memory device, adapted to reside on the floppy disk and coupled to the receiving device, for processing and storing the received digital data, and an LCD display, adapted to reside on the floppy disk and coupled to the logic/memory device, for receiving and displaying the digital signal representing the processed digital data such that information indicative of the data stored on the floppy disk can be viewed when the floppy disk is not inserted in a disk drive.

摘要： A disk drive preamplifier unit includes a serial interface circuit for receiving serially formatted control signals from an associated disk drive controller. The control signals contain several types of information, including head select, write current magnitude, bias for MR transducers, gain magnitude for a variable gain amplifier, and test and mode information. The preamplifier unit incorporates several test circuits in addition to the usual write unsafe detector circuit, and a multiplexer controlled by the mode control signals from the serial interface unit is used to select which test circuit or detector is coupled to a common test output terminal whose signals are coupled back to the controller for further processing. The preamplifier can be used to remotely test the head population of the head disk assembly, to measure the MR bias current through any of the MR transducers and to signal the controller in response to polling characters when a match is obtained between a character and preestablished multi-bit parameter information fixed in the preamplifier unit. A write current generator is shared by the write transducers and the MR bias test circuit, with a current scaling unit used to provide different current ranges from the common source. The preamplifier unit affords remote control and testing which can be adapted to evolving systems using firmware changes alone.
