    • A method of cutting between a first image sequence and a second image sequence displayable on a screen which defines a screen plane, wherein the first image sequence includes a stereoscopically viewable object perceivable by a viewer on a first image plane different to the screen plane and the second image sequence including a second object perceivable on a second image plane different to the first image plane, the stereoscopically viewable object comprising a first image at a first screen plane position and a second image at a second screen plane position, the method comprising: identifying the first screen plane position of the first image and the second screen plane position of the second image; inserting into a first post-cut frame of the second image sequence a first copy of the second object substantially at the first screen plane position and inserting a second copy of the second object substantially at the second screen plane position, and inserting the first copy of the second object and the second copy of the second object into a predetermined number of subsequent frames at positions on the screen which are closer to the screen position required to view the second object at the second image plane, than the first and second screen plane position.

    • An apparatus for detecting disparity is described. This apparatus detects the disparity between corresponding pixel positions in a first and second image capturing the same scene, the first and second image being viewable as a stereoscopic image captured using a parallel lens arrangement, the apparatus comprising: a determiner operable to determine the pixel positions of a plurality of points of change of an image property across a section of the first image and to determine the pixel positions of a plurality of points of change of said image property across a corresponding section of the second image; a comparator operable to compare the position of one of the points of change in the first image with a subset of the positions of the plurality of points of change of second image, whereby the subset is determined in accordance with the pixel positions of the points of change in the second image relative to the pixel position of the one of the points of change in the first image; wherein the determiner is operable to determine the similarity between pixels which have a pixel position adjacent the point of change in the first image, and the corresponding pixels adjacent each of the points of change in the subset; and an obtainer operable to obtain the disparity in accordance with the determined similarity of the pixels.

    • The present invention relates to a silica-containing silicone resin composition which provides high heat resistance, high transparency, and high dimension stability, and thus can be suitably used for optical applications such as a lens, an optical disc, an optical fiber, and a substrate for a flat panel display, or for a window material for an automobile and the like. The silica-containing silicone resin composition is obtained by incorporating 1 to 70 wt % of silica fine particles in a silicone resin composition, which is formulated with a cage type silicone resin mainly constituted of a polyorganosilsesquioxane represented by [RSiO3/2]n (where R is an organic functional group containing a (meth)acryloyl group and n is 8, 10, or 12), and containing a cage type structure in its constitutional unit; and an unsaturated compound containing at least one unsaturated group represented by —R3—CR4═CH2 or —CR4═CH2, (where R3 represents an alkylene group, an alkylidene group, or a —OCO— group, and R4 represents hydrogen or an alkyl group in a molecule), and capable of undergoing radical copolymerization with the silicone resin at a weight ratio of 1:99 to 99:1.
