摘要： A digital camera feeds information input on an operation panel to a system controller. The system controller generates a control signal in accordance with optical sensitivity selected and feeds it to a timing signal generator. The timing signal generator includes a signal generator, which generates a timing signal whose frequency matches with the control signal. While a solid-image image sensor is driven by the timing signal, the frequency of a horizontal transfer signal is made lower than the usual frequency in accordance with the sensitivity selected. This prevents the number of electrons from noticeably decreasing during horizontal transfer to thereby enhance transfer efficiency for a single stage of transfer.

摘要： The present invention provides a digital still camera that can read high quality image data from a solid state image pickup device in both the low and the high sensitivity modes. The digital still camera according to the present invention includes shooting mode selecting means for checking and setting a shooting mode and reading mode selecting means for selecting a suitable reading mode in accordance with the set shooting mode. As the reading mode, full-pixel reading mode and two-field reading mode are provided in this invention. The digital still camera also includes a solid state image pickup device having imaging pixels for accumulating signal charges of an image. Since the signal charges are read in the suitable reading mode, it is possible to avoid mixing colors or decreasing signal charges as time go on. Therefore, it is possible to obtain a high quality image data.

摘要： A method for surface treatment of a substrate is described in which a gas discharge at or about atmospheric pressure produces activated gas or active species which are then used for surface treatment of a substrate. When the discharge gas contains oxygen, for example, surface treatment forms a metal oxide film on a metal circuit on a substrate. If, however, the gas contains hydrogen or an organic substance, a metal oxide film, such as a transparent electrode formed on the surface of a liquid crystal panel, is reduced. Alternatively, by causing discharge to take place adjacent to the surface of a liquid, or bubbled through a liquid, a liquid may be used for surface treatment of a substrate without risk of thermal or electrical damage to the substrate.
