    • A method for item scanning in a shopping cart includes detecting a change in a weight of one or more items within a shopping cart. The weight is sensed by a weight sensor disposed in the shopping cart. Each of the one or more items includes a radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag. The method includes switching an RFID reader to an active state and scanning RFID tags of the one or more items with the RFID reader in response to detecting the change in weight. The RFID reader is disposed on the shopping cart. The method includes switching the RFID reader to an inactive state subsequent to scanning the RFID tags with the RFID reader. The method includes determining an inventory of the one or more items based on information from the scanned RFID tags. The inventory includes an item quantity and an item identity.

    • A solid electrolyte producing system includes a supercapacitor desalination device comprising a power supply and a supercapacitor desalination unit. The supercapacitor desalination unit includes a pair of electrodes electrically coupled to the power supply and operable in a charging mode of operation and a discharging mode of operation. A feeding source is configured to provide a feed liquid to the supercapacitor desalination unit when the supercapacitor desalination unit is in the charging mode of operation. The feed liquid comprises at least one determined electrolyte. A crystallization device is providing for receiving a concentrated liquid from the supercapacitor desalination device in the discharging mode of operation, the concentrated liquid being a saturated liquid or supersaturated liquid of the at least one determined type of electrolyte. The at least one determined type of electrolyte precipitates in the crystallization device as solid electrolyte. The system further comprises a separation device for separating the solid electrolyte from the liquid of the crystallization device as a solid electrolyte product.

    • An AC claw-pole electric motor includes a casing, a stator connected with the casing, a rotor and two exciting parts. The rotor includes a rotor shaft (9), a center magnetic yoke (11), a first side magnetic yoke (8), a second side magnetic yoke (13), and claw poles (2, 3, 4, 5) provided on the center magnetic yoke (11), the first side magnetic yoke (8) and the second side magnetic yoke (13). The two exciting parts are respectively provided in spaces formed by the center magnetic yoke (11), the first side magnetic yoke (8), the second side magnetic yoke (13) and the claw poles (2, 3, 4, 5). The axial exciting magnetic fluxes of the two exciting parts are opposite in direction. Thus, the main magnetic flux and the magnetic energy product of the electric motor are increased, and the output and the operation efficiency of the electric motor at a low speed are improved.
