    • A heat engine is provided which includes: a boiler unit including an evaporation chamber and a fluid-pool chamber, the evaporation chamber heating a working fluid by supplied heat and generating vapor of the fluid, and the fluid-pool chamber collecting the fluid supplied to the evaporation chamber; an output unit through which the vapor flows, and which converts energy of the vapor to mechanical energy; a condensation unit which condenses the vapor that has passed through the output unit, and refluxes the condensed fluid to the fluid-pool chamber; and a working fluid guide member which is disposed in the boiler unit, and which sucks the fluid in the fluid-pool chamber by using capillary force and supplies the fluid to the evaporation chamber. The evaporation chamber is separated from the fluid-pool chamber. Pressure in the evaporation chamber is higher than pressure in the fluid-pool chamber. The working fluid guide member satisfies (2σ/r)·cos θ>PH−PL.

    • A lubricant supplying unit, which can be incorporated in a process unit for use in an image forming apparatus, includes a rotary lubricant supplying member to contact a surface of an image carrier to rotate with the image carrier, a lubricant having an opposed face disposed opposite the rotary lubricant supplying member and side faces, a lubricant holder to hold the lubricant, and a pressing member to press the lubricant toward the lubricant supplying member either directly or via an intermediate transfer member. The rotary lubricant supplying member rotating to scrape the lubricant to supply the scraped lubricant to the image carrier. The lubricant holder supporting at least the entire side face of the lubricant intersecting the opposed face of the lubricant in a cross-section of the lubricant and the lubricant holder in a direction perpendicular to an axial direction of the rotary lubricant supplying member.

    • It is intended to provide a novel artificial sueded leather having flame retardance, which is excellent inflame retardance, light resistance and abrasion resistance, suffers from no water spot and is free from any halogenated chemical (i.e., one having been treated with a so-called non-halogenated flame retardant), and a method of producing the same. The above artificial sueded leather comprises a thermoplastic synthetic fiber cloth made of a woven fabric, a knitted web or a nonwoven fabric, which has a raised-fiber or napped-fiber surface and has been impregnated with a polyurethane resin, and a flame retardant which contains at least a phosphate compound A having a solubility in water of 1% or less, a vinyl group-containing resin C capable of forming a carbonization skeleton in burning and a water-insoluble thickener D and is imparted to one face of the thermoplastic synthetic fiber cloth. A method of producing the artificial sueded leather as described above comprises imparting an flame retardant, which contains at least a phosphate compound A having a solubility in water of 1% or less, a vinyl group-containing resin C capable of forming a carbonization skeleton in burning and a water-insoluble thickener D, to one face of a thermoplastic synthetic fiber cloth made of a woven fabric, a knitted web or a nonwoven fabric which has a raised-fiber or napped-fiber surface and has been impregnated with a polyurethane resin.
