摘要： A method for making a unitary fibrous structure including the steps of providing a first plurality of synthetic fibers onto a forming member having a pattern of channels. The synthetic fibers are provided such that at least some of the synthetic fibers are disposed in the channels. A second plurality of cellulosic fibers are provided onto the synthetic fibers such that the cellulosic fibers are disposed adjacent to the synthetic fibers to form a unitary fibrous structure including the synthetic fibers and the cellulosic fibers, wherein the resulting fibrous structure has micro-regions of differential basis weight.

摘要： A method for making a fibrous structure including a plurality of synthetic fibers disposed in a predetermined pattern and a plurality of cellulosic fibers generally randomly distributed throughout at least one layer of the fibrous structure. The method includes depositing an aqueous slurry including synthetic fibers and an aqueous slurry including cellulosic fibers onto a fluid-permeable forming member having a pattern of channels. The slurries are dewatered to form a fibrous web, wherein the at least some of the cellulosic fibers are randomly distributed throughout at least a portion of the fibrous web and a plurality of synthetic fibers are at least partially non-randomly distributed in the channels. A fluid pressure differential is applied to the fibrous web disposed on the forming member, thereby molding the fibrous web such that the fibrous web includes a first plurality of micro-regions corresponding to a plurality of fluid-permeable areas of the forming member and a second plurality of micro-regions corresponding to a plurality of fluid-impermeable areas of the forming member.

摘要： A micropore drying apparatus having a noncircular profile. The apparatus has a machine direction and dries a web thereon as the web or apparatus moves in the machine direction. The micropore drying apparatus comprises a micropore drying medium which has pores therethrough smaller than the interstitials in the web to be dried thereon. The micropore drying medium may be movable or stationary, as desired. The noncircular profile may have a major axis which is substantially vertically oriented. This arrangement provides the advantage that greater residence time for the web to be dried thereupon is provided, without increasing the machine direction footprint.
