摘要： The disclosure features methods of forming composite materials, and the composite materials formed by such methods. The methods include forming a mixture that includes a binder material and a filler material, and applying a pressure of at least 10 MPa to the mixture to form the composite material, where the composite material thus formed includes less than 9% by weight of the binder material, less than 18% by volume of the binder material, or both, and has a flexural strength of at least 3 MPa.

摘要： A composite bipolar plate for a polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) is prepared as follows: a) compounding vinyl ester and graphite powder to form bulk molding compound (BMC) material, the graphite powder content ranging from 60 wt % to 95 wt % based on the total weight of the graphite powder and vinyl ester, wherein carbon fiber 1-20 wt %, modified organo clay or noble metal plated modified organo clay 0.5-10 wt %, and one or more conductive fillers selected form: carbon nanotube (CNT) 0.1-5 wt %, nickel plated carbon fiber 0.5-10 wt %, nickel plated graphite 2.5-40 wt %, and carbon black 2-30 wt %, based on the weight of the vinyl ester resin, are added during the compounding; b) molding the BMC material from step a) to form a bipolar plate having a desired shaped at 80-200° C. and 500-4000 psi.

摘要： Satellite antenna devices are formed of a conductively doped resin-based material. The conductively doped resin-based material comprises micron conductive powder(s), conductive fiber(s), or a combination of conductive powder and conductive fibers in a base resin host. The percentage by weight of the conductive powder(s), conductive fiber(s), or a combination thereof is between about 20% and 50% of the weight of the conductively doped resin-based material. The micron conductive powders are metals or conductive non-metals or metal plated non-metals. The micron conductive fibers may be metal fiber or metal plated fiber. Further, the metal plated fiber may be formed by plating metal onto a metal fiber or by plating metal onto a non-metal fiber. Any platable fiber may be used as the core for a non-metal fiber. Superconductor metals may also be used as micron conductive fibers and/or as metal plating onto fibers in the present invention.

摘要： The present invention relates to cellulosic material/polymer composites and foams containing zeolite, blowing agent(s) and masterbatch(es) for making such composites and foams, and processes therefor. More specifically, in the embodiments of the present invention directed to cellulosic material/polymer foams, the compositions comprise one or more zeolites and one or more foaming agents, wherein the foaming agent(s) preferably is carried by the zeolite(s) and evolves to form foamed products when processed with foamable materials. The present invention also comprises blowing agent composition(s) comprised of zeolite(s) and foaming agent(s) combination(s), and masterbatch composition(s) comprised of zeolite(s), foaming agent(s) and cellulosic material(s). The zeolite provides several benefits to such compositions and foams. The zeolites also have been found to reduce the tendency of the wood portion of the compositions and foams to discolor and have biocidal activity which reduces the tendency of the compositions and foams to degrade from bacterial and fungal attack.
