The antenna element may have an aperture that extends into the antenna element, and an aperture side defining an aperture area of the antenna element. The radiating element edge may surround the antenna element on the aperture side. The corrugation may be configured to separate, at least on the aperture side, the antenna element and the surrounding radiating element edge. The radiating element edge may be connected to the antenna element at a distance greater than zero from the aperture side of the antenna element.

摘要： The present invention relates to a polarimetric radar, consisting of a transmission assembly that emits circularly polarized waves by means of transmission antennas and a receiver assembly that receives the reflected circularly polarized wave components by means of an antenna assembly. A plurality of two-channel receivers are provided as the receiver assembly, which simultaneously receive clockwise-rotating and anti-clockwise-rotating circularly polarized signal components, which are provided for digital beam shaping downstream of the antenna assembly. The invention further relates to a method for object classification.

The outermost corrugated portion is formed to surround all of the horns, and the outermost corrugated portion is formed of one sheet metal member. With this structure, sheet-metal processing can be used to form horns of adaptable shapes and a plurality of horns can be formed at a time.

The conductively doped resin-based material comprises micron conductive powder(s), conductive fiber(s), or a combination of conductive powder and conductive fibers in a base resin host. The percentage by weight of the conductive powder(s), conductive fiber(s), or a combination thereof is between about 20% and 50% of the weight of the conductively doped resin-based material. The micron conductive powders are metals or conductive non-metals or metal plated non-metals. The micron conductive fibers may be metal fiber or metal plated fiber. Further, the metal plated fiber may be formed by plating metal onto a metal fiber or by plating metal onto a non-metal fiber. Any platable fiber may be used as the core for a non-metal fiber. Superconductor metals may also be used as micron conductive fibers and/or as metal plating onto fibers in the present invention.

摘要： An isolation shield improves the F/B ratio for a directional antenna radiating a electromagnetic wave with a wavelength of λXMT with a TE20 mode waveguide. The system includes a directional antenna and a waveguide adapted for attachment to one side of the directional antenna. The waveguide defines a channel spanning and positioned adjacent to the side of the directional antenna. The channel has a width and depth that are functions of λXMT. The waveguide excites a null in the E-field within the channel. The null being adjacent to the edge of the directional antenna and thereby improving the F/B ratio of the directional antenna.

The elevation plane pattern of each signal can be made to have virtually any shape, but is typically of a substantially cosecant-squared shape. In providing for the dual-polarization capability, the hog-horn antenna is designed to produce substantially equal gains for orthogonal polarizations, either simultaneously or separately. Two techniques to substantially equate the elevation plane radiation patterns of the two polarizations include corrugating or absorber-lining the surfaces of portions of the hog-horn antenna. Azimuthal pattern control may be achieved by corrugated/absorber lined flanges.
