摘要： A security document with unidirectional visual illumination is disclosed. A security feature is positioned within the document and not visible in normal ambient lighting conditions but becomes visible under specialized lighting conditions, for example in the presence of ultraviolet light. The security feature is constructible such that it is visible only from a single side of the security document, with the side being predeterminable regardless of the orientation of the specialized light.

摘要： Materials for, and methods of, colorizing a metallic surface with micro-gratings using vibration cutting technologies are provided. Micro-gratings on aluminum, brass, and stainless steel surfaces can be rapidly created to effect, under illumination, at least one color observable in the visible spectrum using elliptical vibration texturing, a vibration-assisted mechanical cutting process. The modified metallic surface can display multiple visible colors, an iridescent effect caused by changes in one or more cutting parameters employed to produce the micro-gratings, the angle of illumination by an incident light, and/or the viewing angle of the surface under illumination.

摘要： The present invention relates to the use of coating compositions, comprising shaped transition metal, especially silver, particles and a binder, wherein the ratio of pigment to binder is preferably such that the resulting coating shows an angle dependent color change, for the production of security elements and holograms. When the coating compositions of the present invention are used in coating a hologram the obtained products show a an angle dependent color change (flip/flop effect), different colors in reflection and transmission, an extremely bright OVD image and extremely strong rainbow effect, high purity and contrast.

The device is a patch injected with ink that transforms in response to a change in the predetermined condition, such as, a change in temperature or change in the ultraviolet (UV) index level. 摘要： Method for the production of an iridescent image (II) from a reference image (IR) is described. The iridescent image (II) comprises an optical selector (SO) selected from an array of cylindrical lenses, an array of spherical lenses and a parallax barrier. The method includes creating a period adapted to the optical selector (SO) and to the reproduction system used; creating a periodic image (IP) filled in a repetitive manner according to said period; creating a dispersed image by applying a dispersion filter to the periodic image (IP), in which the geometric position of the pixels of the periodic image (IP) is modified as function of the values of the corresponding pixels in the reference image (IR); and associating the created dispersed image (ID) with the optical selector (SO). The invention also relates to the iridescent dispersed images obtained using the method, a device comprising said images and an associated program.
