摘要： The invention describes a sheet conveying device having a feed tray for storing sheets, a first conveying path for conveying a first sheet in a first direction, a feed roller that feeds the sheets in the feed tray to the first conveying path, a second conveying path that connects the first conveying path and the feed tray, and conveys the first sheet in a direction opposite the first direction, and a multiple feed guide in the second conveying path, which has a guide for guiding the first sheet between the feed roller and the feed tray, and an overlying portion which overlies the feed tray on one side of the feed roller. The feed roller feeds the first sheet that was fed to the first conveying path, and was guided by the multiple feed guide, back to the first conveying path. A duplex printer incorporates this sheet conveying device.

The sheet feeding roller conveys an original that stands by in a switchback conveying path to a second conveying path. A sorting unit sorts the original conveyed from a paper delivery path to an original delivery table or to the switchback conveying path. The switchback roller is provided between the sorting unit and the switchback conveying path and it is rotatable in a normal direction or a reverse direction.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a discharging roller decelerating unit and a method of decelerating discharging rollers. The image forming apparatus includes a print unit, discharging rollers, a sensor unit that sensing a trailing edge of paper, and the discharging roller decelerating unit. The method includes detecting a trailing edge of paper using a sensor unit and decelerating the discharging rollers after a predetermined period of delay time subsequent to the sensing of the trailing edge of the paper. Accordingly, even when there is a difference between the sensing moments of the trailing edge of the paper, the decelerating moments of the discharging rollers are stabilized, and thus the paper can be uniformly stacked regardless of double-sided printing or single-sided printing, even when the paper is discharged at a high speed.
