摘要： A method for preparing a laminate substrate for a light emitting device, includes (a) providing a glass substrate having a refraction index of between 1.45 and 1.65, (b) coating a metal oxide layer onto one side of the glass substrate, (c) coating a glass frit having a refractive index of at least 1.7 onto the metal oxide layer, the glass frit including at least 30 weight % of Bi2O3, (d) firing the thus coated glass substrate at a temperature comprised between 530° C. and 620° C. thereby making react the metal oxide with the melting glass frit and forming a high index enamel layer with a plurality of spherical voids embedded in the lower section of the enamel layer near the interface with the glass substrate.

摘要： Certain examples relate to a method of making an antireflective (AR) coating supported by a glass substrate. The anti-reflection coating may include porous metal oxide(s) and/or silica, and may be produced using a sol-gel process. The pores may be formed and/or tuned in each layer respectively in such a manner that the coating ultimately may comprise a porous matrix, graded with respect to porosity. The gradient in porosity may be achieved by forming first and second layers using one or more of (a) nanoparticles of different shapes and/or sizes, (b) porous nanoparticles having varying pore sizes, and/or (c) compounds/materials of various types, sizes, and shapes that may ultimately be removed from the coating post-deposition (e.g., carbon structures, micelles, etc., removed through combustion, calcination, ozonolysis, solvent-extraction, etc.), leaving spaces where the removed materials were previously located.

摘要： An apparatus for sequential deposition of an intermixed thin film layer and a sublimated source material on a photovoltaic (PV) module substrate is provided, along with associated processes. The process can include introducing a substrate into a deposition chamber, wherein a window layer (e.g., a cadmium sulfide layer) is on a surface of the substrate. A sulfur-containing gas can be supplied to the deposition chamber. In addition, a source vapor can be supplied to the deposition chamber, wherein the source material comprises cadmium telluride. The sulfur-containing gas and the source vapor can be present within the deposition chamber to form an intermixed layer on the window layer. In one particular embodiment, for example, the intermixed layer generally can have an increasing tellurium concentration and decreasing sulfur concentration extending away from the window layer.

For example, certain embodiments of this invention relate to a method of making a coated article including a step of heat treating a glass substrate coated with at least a layer of or including diamond-like carbon (DLC) and an overlying protective film thereon. In certain example embodiments, the protective film may be of or include both (a) an oxygen blocking or barrier layer, and (b) a release layer. Following and/or during heat treatment (e.g., thermal tempering, or the like) the protective film may be removed. Other embodiments of this invention relate to the pre-HT coated article, or the post-HT coated article.
