    • Interpolymer resin particles comprised of 20% to 60% by weight of uncross-linked polyolefin e.g. polyethylene, polypropylene, and from 40% to 80% by weight based on the weight of the particles of a vinyl aromatic monomer, e.g. styrene, that is polymerized in a suspension process to form an interpenetrating network of polyolefin with polymerized vinyl aromatic monomer particles and having a gel content of 0 to 1.5% by weight based on the weight of the particles for improved processability in end-use applications and improved ESCR properties. The interpolymer resin particles have a VICAT softening temperature from about 90° C. to about 115° C., and a melt index from 0.2 to 35.0 g/10 minutes (Condition G). The particles can be mixed with a blowing agent to form extruded foam articles, such as foam board, and can be used in extrusion, injection molding, rotomolding, and thermoforming processes to form a layer, e.g. sheet, film, and as a tie layer in multi-layer structures to bind adjacent layers consisting of incompatible polymers, i.e. polystyrene and polyethylene for improved rigidity in multi-layer structures.

    • An end-modified soluble polyfunctional vinyl aromatic copolymer, which is improved in heat resistance, thermal stability, solvent solubility, and compatibility with acrylate compounds, and a curable resin composition using the same are disclosed. The end-modified soluble polyfunctional vinyl aromatic copolymer is obtained by allowing a divinyl aromatic compound (a), a monovinyl aromatic compound (b), and an aromatic ether compound (c) to react with each other, and has, at an end, an end group derived from the aromatic ether compound and having an acrylate bond. The copolymer has a number average molecular weight Mn of 500 to 100,000, an introduction amount (c1) of the end group derived from the aromatic ether compound satisfies (c1)≧1.0 (group/molecule), a molar fraction a′ of a structural unit derived from the divinyl aromatic compound and a molar fraction b′ of a structural unit derived from the monovinyl aromatic compound in the copolymer satisfy 0.05≦a′/(a′+b′)≦0.95. Besides, the curable resin composition includes the copolymer and an unsaturated acrylate monomer.

    • The present invention relates to a method for preparing an imide substituted copolymer resin comprising the steps of: copolymerization by feeding a mixture of an aromatic vinyl monomer and a vinyl cyanide monomer, a mixture of an unsaturated dicarboxylic anhydride monomer and a solvent, an initiator and a chain transfer agent at once to a copolymerization reactor; and imide substitution by continuously feeding the resultant polymerization solution to an imide substitution reactor while continuously feeding a primary amine. The preparation method according to the present invention is capable of continuously preparing an imide substituted copolymer resin having superior heat resistance and excellent fluidity and improving mechanical property and compatibility with ABS resin by inhibiting formation of aromatic vinyl homopolymer.
