    • A fuel injector and servovalve for an internal combustion engine. In one embodiment, the fuel injector comprises a casing; a balanced metering servovalve in the casing that controls movement of an injection control rod along an axial cavity; said servovalve having; a valve body comprising a control chamber; an axial stem comprising a discharge channel having at least one radial segment that runs to a lateral surface of said axial stem; a calibrated inlet passage in communication with said control chamber; and an outlet passage in communication with said control chamber and the discharge channel; a sleeve having a shutter, said axial stem extending into said sleeve in a fluid tight manner and so that said sleeve that can axially slide along said axial stem between a closed position and an open position of said at least one radial segment, thereby controlling said movement of said injection control rod along said axial cavity; an electro-actuator having an armature that controls said axial sliding of said sleeve along said axial stem; an elastic member that exerts a force upon said armature that maintains said sleeve in said closed position, said electro-actuator being able to control said armature to overcome said force of said elastic member; and said armature being separate from said sleeve.

    • A three-way electromagnetic valve controls the opening and closing of a fuel injection valve by enabling a back pressure chamber in which fuel for serving to bias a nozzle needle of the fuel injection valve in the valve closing direction is stored to communicate alternatively with a high pressure chamber in which a high pressure fuel is stored or a low pressure chamber in which a low pressure fuel is stored, and is prevented from any accumulation of extraneous material in clearances of a sliding portion. This three-way electromagnetic valve includes a valve body having a sliding hole, and control, supply and discharge ports through which the sliding hole is enabled to communicate with the back pressure chamber, the high pressure chamber and the low pressure chamber, respectively, and a valve member slidably disposed in the sliding hole and capable of sliding on receiving an electromagnetic force of an electromagnetic actuator, the valve member serving to change over alternatively from one of a first communication state that the supply port and the control port are communicated with each other and a second communication state that the control port and the discharge port are communicated with each other to the other. The supply port is opened in the sliding wall of the sliding hole in the direction perpendicular to the sliding wall, and the clearance between the sliding hole and the valve member is so set as to be made large at the position remote from the supply port but small at the position adjacent to the supply port.

    • A solenoid valve for a fuel injection valve with an internal space is disclosed. Fuel is included in the internal space. The solenoid valve includes a magnet coil that forms an electromagnet when energized. The solenoid valve also includes a stator that is magnetized by the electromagnet. The solenoid further includes an armature provided in the internal space that is attracted to and moves toward the stator when the stator is magnetized. The armature includes an attracted surface that faces the stator, a second surface that is opposite the attracted surface, a recess provided in the attracted surface, at least one through hole that extends through the armature from the attracted surface to the second surface, and at least one communication groove that establishes communication between the recess and the at least one through hole.
