    • An injection nozzle is disclosed. The injection nozzle may have a sealing face providing a sealed connection to the nozzle holder. The injection nozzle may also have a needle guiding bore. The needle guiding bore may have a nozzle holder section extending through the sealing face. The needle guiding bore may further have an injection side section fluidly connected to an outside of the injection nozzle via a plurality of nozzle spray holes. The needle guiding bore may also have a high pressure fuel chamber disposed between the nozzle holder section and the injection side section. The injection nozzle may also have a high pressure supply bore extending through the sealing face and fluidly and connect an opening in the sealing face with the high pressure fuel chamber via an extension.

    • An apparatus includes a first valve configured to selectively direct material to first and second outlets and a second valve configured to block the second outlet. The first and second valves define a dead space that has a volume between the first and second valves. The apparatus also includes a pressure compensation unit configured to dynamically provide an additional volume for material trapped in the dead space when the trapped material expands. The pressure compensation unit could include a piston configured to move within a space of the pressure compensation unit, where increased pressure in the dead space causes the trapped material to push against the piston in order to provide the additional volume for the trapped material. The pressure compensation unit could further include a spring configured to bias the piston and a seal configured to substantially prevent the trapped material from passing the piston and contacting the spring.

    • A fuel injection metering valve has a first fuel outlet for supplying fuel to a first accumulator volume, a second fuel outlet for supplying fuel to a second accumulator volume, valving for controlling fuel flow to the first and second fuel outlets, a first flow path for exposing the valving to fuel pressure representative of fuel pressure in the first accumulator volume and a second flow path for exposing the valving to fuel pressure representative of fuel pressure in the second accumulator volume. The valving is responsive to the representative fuel pressures to control the fuel supply from the second fuel outlet to the second accumulator volume as a function of the fuel pressure in the first accumulator volume. The fuel injection metering valve can be used in a dual-fuel fuel injection system to control the flow of one fuel such that it follows the controlled pressure of a different fuel, so that it is not necessary to provide duplication control components in the fuel injection system.
