摘要： A filter assembly for a fuel injector. In some embodiments, the filter assembly has a longitudinal axis and comprises a filter element, a filter housing, and a cap. The filter element may have a cylindrical section with a first axial end and a second axial end. The tubular filter housing may receive the filter element. The tubular filter housing may include a radial protrusion supporting the first axial end of the cylindrical section when the filter element is received therein. The cap may hold the filter element at the second axial end and encompass the filter housing along an outer circumference. The second axial end may rest directly against the cap.

摘要： A tubular debris shield and diverter mounted in a high pressure flow passage within a fuel injector, provide the dual functions of passing the main flow of high pressure fuel with large debris particles to relatively large discharge openings, such as the injector spray holes, while allowing some high pressure fuel to flow through a multitude of very small transverse holes to a sensitive hydraulic component, such an injector control valve circuit. In one embodiment, the tube has a wall thickness in the range of about 0.1 to 0.5 mm at least about 2000 holes with a diameter in the range of about 20 to 30 microns.

摘要： A nozzle assembly of a fuel injector extends along a main axis and includes a nozzle body provided with an inner space divided in upstream chamber and downstream chamber and also with, a valve needle including a main elongated shaft slidably guided in said inner space and extending through-out both upstream and downstream chambers. The nozzle body and the valve needle cooperate to define throttle fluid communication means between upstream and downstream chambers inducing, in use, a pressure drop when fuel flows through. The nozzle assembly is further provided with a tubular sleeve arranged between the upstream chamber and the downstream chamber in abutment against a face of the body and being radially self-centred guided by a cylindrical face of the needle, the throttle means being arranged in said sleeve.

At least one of the support ribs may have a generally rectangular cross-section and at least one of the support ribs may have a generally parallelogram-shaped cross-section with no right angles. The fuel screen may further include a plurality of wire mesh panels, with each wire mesh panel overlaying a corresponding one of the filter windows. The injector inlet fuel screen may be installed on a fuel injector case have four inlet ports, with the screen having six support ribs and defining six filter windows.

Each of the plurality of fuel accumulators may be disposed at least partially within a different cylinder head of the engine in fluid communication with an associated fuel injector of the plurality of fuel injectors. Each of the plurality of fuel accumulators may also be in fluid communication with adjacent fuel accumulators of the plurality of fuel accumulators. At least one of the plurality of fuel accumulators may also be in fluid communication with the pump. The fuel system may further have a plurality of flow limiters. Each of the plurality of flow limiters may be disposed between an associated fuel accumulator of the plurality of fuel accumulators and an associated fuel injector of the plurality of fuel injectors.

摘要： A fuel injection system includes a fuel supply rail having a supply opening. A fuel injector is coupled to the fuel supply rail and configured to control the delivery of fuel from the fuel supply rail through the supply opening. A noise filtering device engages an upstream end of the fuel injector. The noise filtering device has a projecting portion extending at least partially into the supply opening along an axis, and the noise filtering device defines a restriction passage for directing fuel from the supply rail into the fuel injector. A face seal is established at a transverse face adjacent the supply opening.

摘要： A fuel lance assembly for an engine comprises: a fuel lance to be received in a passage provided in a cylinder head and a connection arrangement comprising an inlet adapter for securing the fuel lance within the passage. The fuel lance comprises a tubular member of constant external diameter, arranged to be received, in use, within the passage and having a first end being shaped for cooperation with a seating surface of a fuel injector of the engine, and a second end being shaped for cooperation with the inlet adapter, and being provided with a bore therethrough to define a fuel flow path between the first end and the second end of the fuel lance. The inlet adapter is provided with an attachment system for engaging a compatible attachment system of the cylinder head, and has a proximal region for receiving a high pressure fuel pipe, and wherein the inlet adapter has a distal region provided with an opening being adapted to receive the second end of the fuel lance. A fuel lance and a fuel supply line arrangement are also provided.
