摘要： The methods and systems for data collection, processing, and utilization of signals with a platform monitoring at least a first element in a first machine in an industrial environment generally include obtaining, automatically with a computing environment, at least a first sensor signal and a second sensor signal with a local data collection system that monitors at least the first machine and connecting a first input of a crosspoint switch of the local data collection system to a first sensor and a second input of the crosspoint switch to a second sensor in the local data collection system. The methods and systems also include switching between a condition in which a first output of the crosspoint switch alternates between delivery of at least the first sensor signal and the second sensor signal and a condition in which there is simultaneous delivery of the first sensor signal from the first output and the second sensor signal from a second output of the crosspoint switch and switching off unassigned outputs of the crosspoint switch into a high-impedance state. The local data collection system includes multiple multiplexing units and multiple data acquisition units receiving multiple data streams from multiple machines in the industrial environment.

If the data is useful, the method also includes receiving a second plurality of data from the first operable system device, the second plurality of data represents at least one characteristic of the first operable system device at a second plurality of points in time, wherein the second plurality of points in time is substantially larger than the first plurality of points in time. If the data is not useful, the method further includes selecting a second operable system device.

Sensors (60) are connected to a local controller (40) which transmits the data via a local or wide area network (45), either through wired or wireless communication paths, in data packets, each containing divided portions of the operational information. The data packets are mapped and stored into multiple, dedicated databases for ease of retrieving and analyzing the data. Preferably, a cloud-based storage arrangement (120) is employed to storing the mapped data.

The data may include real-time data, and is captured from the client systems under supervision of software downloaded over a network from the host system to the client systems. The captured data is transmitted over the network to the host, which creates the databases. The databases preferably include a commercial database comprising data associated with customer owners or operators of the client automation system, as well as a technical database, comprising captured data, administrative and other data, organized by customer and client system. Captured data is preferably associated with the date of capture, providing for the creation of a historical database for given client equipment. With customer authorization, others, such as original equipment manufacturers, may access the captured data, for which they may be charged a fee.

Measured values for the process variable (P) are recorded at predeterminable points in time. Temporally successive recorded measured values are combined to form a weighted measured value. A discrete measured value is assigned to each weighted measured value. A future temporal progression of the process variable (P) is estimated using a linear regression of the discrete measured values, and a point in time in which the process variable (P) reaches a predeterminable limit value is calculated.
