    • Featured is a particulate and pressure redirection barrier for an electrical breaker as well as a breaker embodying such a barrier. Such a barrier includes first through fifth segments, where the first segment includes a first and second side section and a bottom section that are coupled to each other so as to form a generally U shaped structure. The second segment is coupled to the first side section so it extends outwardly at an angle from the first side section. The third segment is coupled to the second side section so as to extend outwardly and at an angle from the second side section. The fourth segment is coupled to the second segment so as to extend outwardly from and at an angle with respect to the second segment. The fifth segment is coupled to the third segment so as to extend outwardly from and at an angle with respect to the third segment. Such a configuration of the fourth and fifth segments is such that gas flowing along a surface of the second or third segments is redirected at an angle with respect to that surface.

    • An improved shield apparatus is structured to resist contamination due to an electrical arc event of an open region that is formed within an interior of a circuit interrupter. The open region is one within which a coil spring is movably disposed. The improved shield apparatus is formed of a flexible sheet of arc-resistant material and includes a support apparatus having an elongated leg, at least a portion of which extends through an elongated longitudinal opening in the coil spring and connects with an end of the coil spring. The shield apparatus further includes a shield element that is situated on an exterior surface of the coil spring and is structured to overlie at least a portion of an opening into the open region.

    • The present invention discloses a relay switch arrangement for a toaster, the arrangement has an actuating member releasably engaged to the engaging metal positioned above the electromagnet, and shifted between a power-on position and a power-off default position. A homing spring is provided biasing against the actuating member for maintaining the actuating member in the power-off position. Electrical contacts are respectively provided onto a pair of power slabs for selectively completing the circuit, wherein in the power-on position, the actuating member drives two contacts approach with each other complete the circuit to charge the electromagnet attracting the engaging metal, in the power-off default position, the circuit is powered off enabling the electromagnet to release the engaging metal, the homing spring will upwardly push the actuating member thus driving the engaging metal tilt up so as to disengage the pair of contacts for security purposes.

    • A circuit breaker includes fixed and movable contacts, an operating mechanism including a movable arm carrying the movable contact, an arc chute including a plurality of spaced apart first and second arc plates, and a slot motor. A slot motor structure is disposed about the contacts and a portion of the movable arm. An insulative housing at least substantially covers and insulates the slot motor structure from the movable arm and contacts. The insulative housing includes a base and a pair of arms disposed therefrom. Each of the arms includes a first portion disposed proximate the first arc plates and a second smaller portion disposed proximate the second arc plates. A space extending from the first portion, not occupied by the second portion, is generally occupied by a portion of the second arc plates. The second portion forms a debris shield between the second arc plates and the operating mechanism.
