摘要： Disclosed is a method and apparatus for reducing outbound interference in a broadband powerline communication system. Data is modulated on first and second carrier frequencies and is transmitted via respective first and second lines of the powerline system. A characteristic of at least one of the carrier signals (e.g., phase or amplitude) is adjusted in order to improve the electrical balance of the lines of the transmission system. This improvement in electrical balance reduces the radiated interference of the powerline system. Also disclosed is the use of a line balancing element on or more lines of the powerline system for altering the characteristics of at least one of the power lines in order to compensate for a known imbalance of the transmission system.

摘要： Embodiments of an apparatus are disclosed that includes a first three dimensional (3D) inductor and a second 3D inductor. The first three dimensional (3D) inductor has a first conductive path shaped as a first two dimensional (2D) lobe laid over a first 3D volume. In addition, the second 3D inductor has a second conductive path, wherein the second 3D inductor is inserted into the first 3D inductor so that the second conductive path at least partially extends through the first 3D volume. Since second 3D inductor is inserted into the first 3D inductor, the 3D inductors may be coupled to one another. Depending on orientation and distances of structures provided by the 3D inductors, the 3D inductors may be weakly or moderately coupled.

摘要： An embodiment of the disclosed MIMO transceiver uses a single master clock to generate (i) the sampling-clock signals for the analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters and (ii) the multiple electrical local-oscillator signals that are used in various channels of the transceiver's analog down- and up-converters to translate signals between the corresponding intermediate-frequency and RF bands. The MIMO transceiver may employ a plurality of interconnected frequency dividers configured to variously divide the master-clock frequency to generate the sampling-clock signals and the multiple local-oscillator signals in a manner that causes these signals to have different respective frequencies. In embodiments designed for operating in the mmW band, the MIMO transceiver may also employ a frequency multiplier configured to multiply the master-clock frequency to generate an additional local-oscillator signal for translating signals between the mmW and RF bands.

摘要： Data communications systems and methods comprise a conductive media infrastructure in communication with a plurality of data universes including at least one baseband data universe and at least one broadband data universe. Exemplary embodiments include a coupling device coupling the baseband data universe and the broadband data universe to the conductive media infrastructure which includes a plurality of nodes. The coupling device provides a baseband construction mode in which the coupling device may generate baseband data signals onto the conductive media infrastructure and may induce the broadband data signals onto the conductive media infrastructure. In baseband construction mode there is a limited perspective in which one or more nodes are inhibited from receiving a strategically segmented subset of secure data signals and a strategic perspective in which one or more nodes receive the strategically segmented subset of secure data signals over a period of time. A segmentation device is in communication with the coupling device and partitions the broadband data universe from the baseband data universe such that each data universe is independently isolated from every other data universe and a virtual firewall of security among the data universes is created.
