    • In a control device, the scan control unit controls a scanning operation in which data is to be generated by reading a document. The data format selecting unit selects one of a first format or a second format different from the first format as a data format in which the data is to be generated. The resolution setting unit sets a reading resolution based on the data format. The resolution setting unit sets a first resolution as the reading resolution when the data format selecting unit selects the first format whereas the resolution setting unit sets a second resolution different from the first resolution as the reading resolution when the data format selecting unit selects the second format. The scan control unit controls the scanning operation to read the document in the reading resolution set by the resolution setting unit.

    • An image acquisition apparatus for acquiring an image of a document including a housing having an internal space, a substantially transparent window, a CCD sensor array, a light source for illuminating the document and an opaque cover device for blocking light from escaping the internal space of the housing through the transparent window. The cover device includes an opaque wall that combined with the document, operationally blocks the escaping of light from the internal space of the housing. The cover device further includes a primary insertion slit, a document removing mechanism and a removal slit for removing a small form document through the removal slit. Optionally, the cover device further includes a second insertion slit for inserting the small form document. The width of the second insertion slit is smaller than the width of the first insertion slit.

    • The present invention is to provide a document processing device with picture-taking, video and audio recording, scanning and projecting functions, which mainly is including a set of base composed of a left and a right base bodies, a vertical rack bar able to be insert-put on the left and right base bodies, a horizontal rack bar pivot-connected on top of the vertical rack bar, a main machine body pivot-set in the vertical rack bar elements. The said main machine body has an optical lens and is set with a microphone and a light compensator. The device of present invention can be provided for putting the ordinary document data on the base. The data on the documents can be transformed into editable files by utilizing the optical lens inside the main machine body to take the pictures and through the recognizing software. Furthermore, it can record the audio or video in accordance with selected action processes through the main machine body. Simultaneously, the main machine body can further provide for connecting externally with the computers to proceed the image projecting.

    • An image processing apparatus is provided with an area sensor which is formed by arranging sensor components for a pixel in a two-dimensional array and is attached in an inclined manner with respect to a reference installation position.     • A check scanner endorses or cancels a check with a print head when the check is driven in the forward direction, and franks, endorses or prints again when the check is driven in the reverse direction. Two separate images of each side of the check are generated for digital comparison and verification purposes by scans with contact image sensors (CIS), with one image from scanning in the forward direction and another image from scanning in the reverse direction. A high resolution image may be obtained by CIS scanning when the check is driven in the forward direction and an even higher resolution image may be obtained by CIS scanning when the check is driven in the reverse direction. Alternately, a grey scale image may be obtained by CIS scanning when the check is driven in the forward direction, and a color image may be obtained by CIS scanning when the check is driven in the reverse direction. After scanning, the check is returned back to the original point of entry.
