    • An electronic lock driven by a keep solenoid has a non-direct mechanical connection between the solenoid plunger and the slidable deadbolt of the lock. The connection includes a pivoted lever connected to the plunger and a link between the lever and the deadbolt, these components being arranged in such a way that when the deadbolt is fully extended the pivot point of the lever and pivot points on both ends of the link, with the lever and with the deadbolt, are in alignment. The mechanical arrangement prevents retraction of the extended deadbolt by pushing inward on the deadbolt, which is a problem with a deadbolt driven directly by a solenoid plunger.

    • A modular latch assembly for selectively securing a cover member to a base due to actuation of an input member is disclosed. The latch assembly includes an arm that is supported for substantially linear movement between a latched position and an unlatched position. The arm secures the cover member to the base when in the latched position, and the arm releases the cover member from the base when in the unlatched position. Moreover, the latch assembly includes a link that is operably coupled to the arm for rotation relative to the arm simultaneously as the arm moves between the latched and unlatched positions. The arm and the link have a first modular configuration in which the input member engages the arm for unlatching the assembly and a second modular configuration in which the input member engages the link for unlatching the assembly.

    • Latch systems for use in aircraft are disclosed. One system includes a frame, a pin at least partially inside frame, an interface portion, and a link. Pin has proximal and distal ends and is slidable between extended and retracted positions. Interface portion is pivotable between open and closed positions and has a handle for receiving a force to move interface portion to open and closed positions. Link is pivotably coupled to pin and interface portion such that pin is at extended position while interface portion is at closed position and pin is at retracted position while interface portion is at open position. Interface portion has an impact face in line with pin when interface portion is at closed position to ensure pin does not reach retracted position while interface portion is at closed position.
