摘要： A crude oil which contains at least 0.1 wt % unstable sulfur compounds is treated in a reaction zone at low temperature to convert at least 50 wt % of the unstable sulfur compounds contained therein. The reaction and removal of sulfur from the crude may be facilitated by contacting the crude oil with a catalytic material in the presence of a stripping fluid.

摘要： Trace amount levels of heavy metals such as arsenic in crude oil are reduced by contacting the crude oil with an oxidizing agent, extracting heavy metals into a water phase for subsequent separation from the crude oil. In one embodiment, the oxidizing agent is selected from the group of hydroperoxides, organic peroxides, inorganic peracids and salts thereof, organic peracids and salts thereof, halogens such as iodine (I2), bromine (Br2), and ozone. In one embodiment, at least a complexing agent selected from the group of metal m halides and/or sulfur compounds can be added to facilitate the removal of arsenic from crude oil by forming soluble heavy metal complexes in the water phase.

摘要： A process and apparatus to extract and recover heavy metals and sulfur from crude oil or petroleum fuel products including the steps of emulsifying the crude oil with an emulsifying agent, adding a leach solution to the emulsified crude oil and leaching the emulsified crude oil at elevated temperature and pressure to give a leached emulsified crude oil. The leach solution may be acid or alkali. A proportion of the leach solution is extracted for recovering heavy metals. There can also be a microwave hydro-treating step using hydrogen gas at a temperature below 220° C. to ensure there is no quality degradation in the crude feed to produce a desulfurized crude oil and a hydrogen sulphide by-product and recovering sulfur from the hydrogen sulphide by-product.

摘要： A process for significantly decreasing the acid sludge settling time in waste oil recovery processes comprising the steps of heating used oil to a high temperature above 700 degrees Fahrenheit, cooling the heated oil, adding an oxidizing agent to the oil, allowing the acid sludge to settle within a period of approximately 24 to 72 hours, separating the acid-sludge-free oil from the acid sludge which settles out of solution as a result of addition of the oxidizing agent, and adding a polishing agent and separating the re-refined oil from the spent polishing agent. The process produces a high quality re-refined oil rapidly and economically.

摘要： An electroplating method is disclosed and includes the rotation of a substrate, submerged within an electrolytic solution, under the application of ultrasonic waves, and the ejection of the electrolytic solution containing bubbles in a direction opposite the direction of rotation of the substrate. The electroplating apparatus for electroplating the substrate submerged within the electrolytic solution disposed within an electrolytic cell applies ultrasonic waves to the solution and additionally includes a driving device for rotating the substrate, a bubble generator for entraining bubbles within the electrolytic solution, and an ejector for ejecting the electrolytic solution containing the bubbles generated by means of the bubble generator in a direction which is opposite to the direction of rotation of the substrate.
