摘要： A spark plug includes a tubular metal shell; an insulator including a locking portion locked onto the metal shell; and a cap disposed at a front end side of the metal shell, the cap having a plurality of orifices. The plurality of orifices include orifices with different cross-sectional areas. A sum of the number of one or more largest orifices and the number of one or more large orifices that have a cross-sectional area of larger than or equal to 90% of the one or more largest orifices is smaller than the number of orifices that are other than the one or more largest orifices and the one or more large orifices. A length of the front end portion in an axial direction between a front end of the insulator and a front end of the locking portion is smaller than or equal to 12 mm.

摘要： A cylinder head (3) is formed with a pre-chamber (12) surrounded by a thin pre-chamber wall (11) sticking out from the inside wall surface of the cylinder head (3) to the inside of a main combustion chamber (5). Inside the pre-chamber (12), the electrode of a spark plug (15) is arranged. When the spark plug (15) is used to burn the air-fuel mixture inside the pre-chamber (12), jet flames are ejected from the communication holes (13) to the main combustion chamber (5). The thin pre-chamber wall (11) is formed into a two-layer structure of an outside wall (11a) facing the main combustion chamber (5) and an inside wall (11b) facing the pre-chamber (12). The inside wall (11b) is formed by a material with a higher heat conductivity than the outside wall (11a).

摘要： A spark plug for an internal combustion engine is provided which includes a housing, a porcelain insulator, a center electrode, and an annular ground electrode. The housing has a small-diameter portion which has a smaller inner diameter and defines a front end thereof. The ground electrode is secured to a front end surface of the small-diameter portion and forms a spark gap between itself and an outer periphery of the center electrode. A pocket is formed between the inner periphery of the housing and a portion of the porcelain insulator which is located closer to a front end of the porcelain insulator than the mounting shoulder is. An air vent extends from outside the ground electrode in a radial direction of the spark plug to the pocket to establish communication between the pocket and the combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine.
