摘要： A system and method for selecting a starting point to transmit a beacon (BTSP) from a coordinator and a first node in a communication system. The communication system includes the coordinator, a first node group with at least one node having the first node which receives the beacon from the coordinator, and a second node group with at least one node having a second node which receives the beacon from the first node. The coordinator determines a beacon window size for the beacon transmission, selects the BTSP within the beacon window size, and transmits at the BTSP, the beacon containing information on the beacon window size and the BTSP. The first node selects its BTSP within the beacon window size so as not to overlap with the BTSP of the received beacon.

摘要： A hand-supportable automatic digital imaging-based bar code symbol reading device comprises: an automatic object presence detection subsystem; an area-type image formation and detection subsystem having a narrow-area image-capture mode of operation; a LED-based illumination subsystem having narrow-area illumination mode of operation; an image capturing and buffering subsystem; and an image-processing bar code symbol reading subsystem. The automatic object presence detection subsystem automatically detects an object, and the LED-based illumination subsystem automatically illuminates the detected object in a field of narrow-area narrow-band illumination, while the area-type image formation and detection subsystem captures a narrow-area image thereof. The image-processing bar code symbol reading subsystem automatically and directly applies decode image processing operations on the captured image, in an outwardly-directed manner, referenced from the center of the captured narrow-area image, to automatically read a 1D bar code symbol on the detected object.

摘要： A method of illuminating objects using adaptively controlled mixing of spectral illumination energy to form and detect digital images of objects at POS environments with sufficiently high image contrast and quality. The method comprises providing, at a POS environment, a digital image capture and processing system having a system housing with an imaging window, and a coplanar illumination and imaging station disposed within said system housing, for projecting a coplanar illumination and imaging plane through the imaging window into an imaging volume during object illumination and imaging operations. As the object is moved through the imaging volume, its motion is automatically detected, and signals indicative of said detected object are generated. In response to the generated signals, a first field of visible illumination is produced from an array of visible laser diodes (VLDs), simultaneously with a second field of invisible illumination from a array of infrared (IR) laser diodes (LDs). These first and second fields of illumination spatially overlap and intermix with each other and produce a composite planar illumination beam that is substantially coextensive with the FOV. During object illumination and imaging operations, the relative power ratio (VIS/IR) of these fields of visible illumination and invisible illumination are controlled as one or more linear digital images of the illuminated object are formed and detected, captured and buffered, and ultimately processed so as to read one or more 1D and/or 2D code symbols graphically represented in the digital images. In an illustrative embodiment, during object illumination and imaging operations operation, the relative power ratio (VIS/IR) is adaptively controlled to form and detect digital images of objects at POS environments with sufficiently high image contrast and quality.

The read/write head has a write settling time that is more than the track skew time. A data reordering circuit and firmware reorders write data and provides the reordered data to the read/write head after the write settling time. The reordering of the write data reduces write latency.

摘要： A digital-imaging based code symbol reading system comprising an image sensing array with a field of view (FOV), an illumination subsystem with an LED illumination array, an automatic illumination measurement subsystem, an illumination control subsystem, and programmed imager processor supporting an image-processing based illumination metering program. The automatic illumination measurement subsystem, employing a photodetector operating independently from the image sensing array, is used to automatically measure the illumination level at a particular region of the FOV and determine the illumination duration necessary to achieve a desired spatial intensity in the detected digital image. The illumination metering program automatically analyzes and measures, in real-time, the spatial intensity distribution of the digital image and determines whether or not a corrected illumination duration is required or desired when detecting the next or subsequent digital images, during the current or subsequent object illumination and imaging cycle. The previously determined illumination duration is over-written with the corrected illumination duration, which is used to drive the illumination subsystem and form and detect subsequent digital images of the illuminated object.
