PURPOSE: To enable elastic compression of an anchoring dowel over the full length thereof by a method wherein contact faces of two half-dowel parts constituting the anchoring dowel are made slants which are twisted a little longitudinally in opposite directions to each other. CONSTITUTION: Two contact faces 13a and 13b of half-dowel parts 11a and 11b are helical ones twisted rightward and leftward in respect to the axes 14a and 14b of the half-dowel parts respectively. Although the half- dowel parts inserted through dowel holes of plate materials 7 and 8 are to be untwisted by compressive forces generated by the plate materials, they come into contact with each other by members 20a and 20b and 20'a and 20'b located in the end parts on the opposite sides of the axis 14, while the compressive forces are distributed along members 19a and 19b being much longer than members 9a and 9b of a dowel 1 and therefore having larger faces than these members and, accordingly, more excellent distribution of the forces is given between the plate materials 7 and 8 and the dowel 11.

Then, the connecting plate 2 is fitted into the fitting groove 52 and each driving piece 3 (4) is driven into a pair of the wooden blocks 51, 51 abutted on each other, to thereby connect the wooden blocks 51, 51 to each other.
