PURPOSE:To obtain a wall structure of a hot stove which permits cooling during downtime of the blast furnace, reduces maintenance and control costs and withstands long-term use, by laminating an expansion absorbing layer, a heat-insulating monolithic refractory layer and a fire-resistant monolithic refractory layer successively in the furnace core direction on the inner side of shells. CONSTITUTION:Prescribed reinforcing bars 7 are protrusively provided on the inside surface of shells 2 toward the furnace core direction. A heat-insulating amorphous refractory layer 9 formed of heat-insulating monolithic refractories (e.g.; light castable) is formed by way of expansion spaces 8 inserted with ceramic fibers or the like on the inner side of the shells 2. A heat-resistant monolithic refractory layer 10 formed of fire-resistant monolithic refractories (e.g.; castable) is formed on the inner side of this refractory layer 9. Since this wall structure formes the refractory layer 9 and the refractory layer 10 by using monolithic refractories which are inexpensive as compared to molded bricks, it can considerably reduce material costs. Also, the furnace is built by assembling panels after the construction of the reinforcing bars 7 and casting monolithic refractories and therefore the considerable reduction in work period as compared to masonry is made possible.
