The invention relates to monoblock concrete sleepers suitable for use in ballasted rail transportation systems operated with rail gauges of at least 1425 mm and at most 1445 mm, axle loads of at least 17 tons.f and at most 25 tons.f, and inter-sleeper-spacings of at least 50 cm and at most 65 cm that left between the center axes of the sleepers along the rail system route; obtained by using carbon fiber reinforced polyurethane laminate materials (4), (6), (7), (8), (9), (10), (11), (12) having a thickness of minimum 4500 microns and maximum 5500 microns (1), a width of minimum 10 mm and maximum 30 mm (2), a length of minimum 210 cm and maximum 225 cm (3), all surfaces coated with garnet sand having a grain size of minimum 250 microns and maximum 1000 microns, with a thickness of minimum 250 microns and maximum 1250 microns; without prestressing and stirrup reinforcement use; inside a cement-based concrete (21), which is having of at least 30 MPa and at most 40 MPa compression strength, with described specific sizes and placement (5), (13), (14), (15), (16), (17), (18), (19), (20); and have the main objective of preventing resonance damages of structural elements of rail transportation system and providing non-prestressed, no stirrups-used, and shorter length monoblock sleeper design.

143 BETONFERTIGTEIL UND VERFAHREN PCT/DE2003/000156 2003-01-20 WO2003104562A1 2003-12-18 WEBER, Roland

145 DURABLE RAILWAY TIE PCT/US2016/017286 2016-02-10 WO2016130637A1 2016-08-18 LI, Victor C.; HERBERT, Emily

A railway tie being constructed of an engineered cementitious composite (ECC) material having: (1) a minimum of 2% tensile ductility of ECC, (2) complete absence of alkali-silica reaction (ASR), (3) high fatigue resistance of ECC at least five times that of normal concrete, (4) self-healing ability of ECC requiring only water and air, and (5) customization of ECC for lower stiffness in the tie (60% that of normal concrete) and higher abrasion resistance in the seat (three times that of normal concrete).

147 SHELL CROSS-MEMBER SYSTEM AND RAILWAY SECTION INCLUDING SUCH A SYSTEM US15460932 2017-03-16 US20170268179A1 2017-09-21 Lise PESQUEUX; Arnaud LOAEC
This cross-member system with shell (10) for a railroad track, intended to be wedged in an apron of the railroad track, of the type including a cross-member (12) having a lower face (20), and an upper face (22) that is intended to receive a rail fastening system (14), and a shell, is characterized in that the shell envelops substantially the entire cross-member so as to define an inner volume for receiving the cross-member that is sealed against outside attacks.
148 Reinforced concrete tie with embedded rail clamp means US742190 1976-11-16 US4090665A 1978-05-23 Milton E. Schlesener
An assembly for fastening of railroad track incorporating a steel reinforced concrete tie with vertical thread steel sleeves welded to a reinforcement truss embedded in the concrete tie to which sleeves, track bolt assemblies may be threadably joined. A track bolt assembly includes a pair of hollow male threaded plugs, each threaded to a female thread in the opposed ends of a sleeve to retain a nut that is biased by a compression spring in the sleeve, to which nut, a track screw mounted to a hold-down block is engaged. With the hold-down block fixed against a track rail flange, the screw may be tightened in the nut of the sleeve to a pre-set tensile load as determined by the compression spring.
